I have a RYTM and A4. I love them both.
I just can’t seem to vibe them TOGETHER.
I feel like I need a Boomstar with the RYTM.
I currently have a Peak, AN1X, Rev2 and Nord 2X.
I need something portable with bite and grab. I just feel like the A4 is too “smooth” for the RYTM.
But maybe I’m not approaching it correctly?
Maybe the config of voices is key?
The RYTM is so great at laying down the entire bottom. And it’s slamming. It needs a beast on top.
Have you tried the Roland SE-02? I also have A4 MK2 and a Moog Minitaur for mono duties, but I find that the SE-02 has a very good midrange complement to the AR’s BD.
No, I have never tried that one.
Considering how I love the Boomstar.
I was considering the Digitone again.
The Boom is great because it’s hands on. And the filter shrieks.
I’m just wondering how well the RYTM can sequence it.
And it’s a power hog. These events I’m doing lately are outside on power banks.
But the SE-02 is an good idea! Thank you for reminding me!
Try harder!
Might be an opportunity to develop your own style…
A4 is pretty capable, but asks for more work than AR.

I was considering that.
But I have a style in my head that I want. I can hear the music in my mind. I’m not sure the A4 filter can get there.
How long do I keep at it? I felt this way about the RS7000. There was just so much that could be done with the sound engine and it had a certain sound.
Still, good advice. I appreciate you. Thank you.
Took me years to reach what I wanted.
Might also be my own journey with synthesis, though.
And mk2 distorsion, it really opened some soundscapes I couldn’t get with mk1.
AM is a pretty corner, as well as sync (with LFO on the synced OSC pitch).
Master every little modulation there is, plock the rest…
You’ll find soon enough modulations are lacking on other synths ^^
Maybe add a filter or drive effects-pedal to one of the A4 voices? One track out, pedal and into ext-in?
