The Digitakt Feature Request Thread

So instead of retrig only being per step, you can make every sound retrig. On the OT, this is great for automating l having crazy glitchy stutters. Tie that in with the DT ctrl-all and you could essentially have the entire pattern on every step start retriggering at once.

So now after a few days with the DT, here are my hopes and dreams.

  1. MIDI Arp
  2. Chorus
  3. Another LFO or 2
  4. 2nd page base width filter for bandpass
  5. Retrig on the TRIG screen
  6. Parameter slides
  7. KIT that can be saved like sounds so you can load up kits from one project to another
  8. Stereo samples (not sampling, just sounds)
  9. Basic beat time stretching for loops that doesnā€™t effect pitch
  10. A fwd/Rev loop function so it goes forwards then backwards then forwards then backwards and so on.

That seems it for now. Iā€™m sure Iā€™ll find more ideas as I dig deeper.

Thatā€™s an Octatrackā€¦

I have in OT. Itā€™s def. NOT an OT. Itā€™s just a better DT.

Ha alright. Iā€™d love it if the DT had those things too.

Retrigger on the trig screen would make a load of sense. My number one feature request for DT would be key tracking on the lfo. Lots of creative possibilities
You ever use midi loopback?

Tried on my Digitone. To much whacky shit going on to bother. Haha.

Ah well, lots of uses for it on DT. One of which would be linking two tracks so you can have control over a stereo sample.
Set the sample slot and pan of each track to represent the left and right sides of your sample. Then set the audio tracks to send and receive on the same midi channel. Youā€™ll need to set encoders to ext+int. This will let you change parameters on both tracks at the same time (without resetting that tracks specific settings). It works similarly to cntrl all, but only the tracks you set and not so on the fly.
You may also gain more lfos using midi loopback.
The last two requests you made can technically be done with just the lfo, but the time stretching probably wouldnā€™t have the resolution you want.

Sounds like a ton of work for something that should have just been implemented from the start. haha.

TRIG+YES. It already exist on AR and A4. Please make it on every box.

Lazy butt :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

random playback streamā€¦ without touching samples

It does work but on Rytm you press the pad to listen to the step and it alters the velocity.
The A4 is better but you can hit the wrong keyā€¦ trig plus yes would be better on all of the boxes

Is this just screaming into the void at this point? Have elektron said anything about future support for digitakt to make us think itā€™s not ā€œdoneā€?

yes

Blinding idea, thanks! I racked my brains for a workaround for this at the time, canā€™t even remember what I wanted to do with it now haha

two things come to my mind:
Fill:
DonĀ“t know if i am alone with this but i keep using the FILL a lot in my setups.
First, i would love to have a dedicated button for FILL, and second i would like to have two.
and use trig conditions Fill A, FIll B f.e.

Custom Knob.
It would be awesome to have one or two unassigned Knobs, and be able to assing any parameter to these, i need to access quicky. a simpler version of the performance knob of the AR, OT, AF.

One organisational feature Iā€™d really love to see is the ability to completely swap two tracks around. Sometimes if youā€™re not careful you wind up with elements you want on adjacent tracks completely separated. To save the faff of copying and pasting things around in a precarious and overly complicated sequence of key pressesā€¦ why not just have a special shortcut to completely swap the data of two tracks? Sequencer and Sound.

Then the usual boring things everyone asks for:

  1. Polyphonic tracks
  2. Timestretch
  3. Alternate Delay/Reverb algorithms
  4. Secondary filter page (like Digitone)ā€¦ or at LEAST add a bandpass option ffs
  5. Expand Tune rangeā€¦ 2 octaves in each direction is sort of pitiful. Same for OT.

There are others Iā€™ve forgottenā€¦ Iā€™m sure.

I ran into situations while composing recently where I spent a lot of time tweaking full tracks of trigs.

So how aboutā€¦

  1. Micro timing for a track. Hold a track, and press left or right to access the micro timing window. The track timing would be a global value added/subtracted from each trig independently.

  2. Transpose track. Hold track, and press up or down to increase or decrease by semitones.
Like the micro timing, it would be independently applied.

Best regards,

Gino
