I’m pretty sure that the DT is low on cpu power at this point (a few Elektron employees have said so in various threads) so any new features we get if any will probably be very cpu light.
It doesn’t hurt to drop ideas. There are some great ones in here actually that could be feasible on a mkII device. The DN has far more HP and I’m betting a DT MKII gets the same type of cpu / mem setup as the DN which would make a lot of the cpu heavier requests more feasible.
I always find myself wanting a zero point cross fade when I’m sampling. No more clicks. But it IS far easier to do in an editor like Edison with a huge screen. But like 80% of the reason for hardware is to get out of the box!
Haha oh dude I completely thought you were joking in your post. If you are finding yourself spending so much time posting about feature requests that it’s taking time away from making music, that’s super silly. These aren’t like half-finished instruments that NEED some crucial update to be usable, they are good to go and fully ready to make hit records, the rest is you.
The last paragraph wasn’t intended to me especially. I don’t spend much time requesting. Since a lot of people spend time on this thread, I think it will be fair enough to have real infos from the source.
I take the Digitakt as it is and I love that box. I’m not the kind of guy who lives on expectations.
Unfortunately this thread is kind of a lie. It’s a user made thread that was probably intended as a discussion for what people would like to see that has turned into this endless wishing well and there is no evidence elektron employees really even read it.
I think it should really be stated in the first post that there is an official elektron request line that isn’t this thread.
Word, the Digitakt has gotten really beefed up through updates and I’m totally happy as-is too… although there are a few things I hope they would add/modify… so I wouldn’t mind if they said a few things about plans too. Yea I do, I just messaged you…

Im guessing they dont say what they are thinking about adding cus they dont want people to base their selling/buying decisions on possable future features.
My take on it is. If you want a full featured box, buy their flagship models. Dont like buy a sampler without song mode and then complain about it not having song mode. For example…
Dimmable/ configurable LED and acreen brightnes would be an awesome addition, would make using the DT much better! (Especially with sensory processing issues!!)
The standard brightness sometimes just is too much for me…
There will be a DT mk2 some time in the far future, so even if we have more ideas than the current DT CPU power, elektron might be able to take a look at the requests for a future version!
monitoring on the headphones would be especially nice as it would allow us to run the digitakt into pedals and resample their output without having to use a daw.
now, you just can’t listen to the pedals output while recording because it’s creating a feedback loop.
i love my Digitakt and all i want is song mode, even if it’s super rudimentary compared to the A4/AR version. i can’t believe this would be processor-intensive…
I see there’s 2x extra slots on the trig page, any chance of a second condition there so you could multiply them for more variability? I often set 4:4 or something but would love to also set another condition like pre or a percentage or stop after x times etc. That would be super handy!
