sequencing in silence ??? jk that would make flights much more tolerable~
Haha dude I jammed out for a solid 5 hours on the flight today, I think my fellow passengers were probably wondering why I was hunched over a flashing black box banging my head and saying “Oooh damn dude that is dirtyyyyy” under my breath…
Thought of a new conditional trig that would be really useful for live performance.
Pattern Change Active
When a pattern change is active (cued) then the trig is active (also not variant). You could have programmed in transition segments or even use it to trigger pattern changes on other synths so everything stays in sync.
Please bring “back” live recording of retrigs. And choke group(s).
I love my DT, but getting loops sound clean and decent is a painful fiddling.
So I’d like to see a snap-to-zero-crossing option for the start / loop / end points.
I bought the DT seeing the built-in sample editor and assumed I could load some samples and cut them to taste in-box. I was very disappointed to learn that it only works after recording or re-sampling a sound. I see no reason why the already existing editor can’t be used for already loaded samples and hope it will be available in a near-future update.
And finally, every groovebox should have a song mode. It will not make the OT obsolete, since it has more than enough distinct advantages on its own. But it will make the DT a much more attractive, timeless machine.
Criticism + feature request:
I am a very patient person, but it really hurts to wait for Overbridge to become stable and out of beta. I suggest hiring external developers to get this finally finished.
° Memory boost
° #Appl y edit to remove samples in real time from the bank.
My wishlist, in order of importance:
- 2 filters per track
- 3 lfos for track
- Remember key note on midi track when copy and pasting midi tracks
- adding a second page with another 8 audio tracks
- choosing if normalising or not when sampling
- allowing the use of sharing lfo tracks as in Machinedrum
If its not possible to make a second Lfo maybe there could be multiple destinations with their own depth and fade control?!
A simple feature that would be very helpful:
when saving a recorded sample, it would be so nice to actually preview the recorded samples directory content.
this way, we could avoid mistaking the names of different resampled/processed versions of one same sample/ loops etc
…
M:C-style chord shape selector in the MIDI sequencer.
my feature request recap (can’t help to do it every once in a while )
- BPF
- zoom on SRC page
- stereo input mode* (even if that disables sampling temporarily - like a special setting for live performance)
- class-compliant stereo out
- Trig+YES preview
- Velocity as destination for the LFO
*with gain control, since it’s usually super quiet
I think for me a continuous multi mode filter and an AND on trig conditions would be enough.
Like having a second option for trig conditions. For example I could set a trig to be a fill AND 35% to play when I don’t use the FILL button.
There are 2 empty spots in the trig page, next to the filter retrig switch.Hopefully they have been kept like this for something radical
Also the trig+yes for trig preview would be perfect and absolutely doable I believe.
Just wondering, we haven’t seen much love for the Digitakt Firmware, does the Elektron team even read this thread?
They probably browse it every now and then purely to mine it for ideas, but you’re going to get more attention by asking them for something directly via feature-request@elektron.se
I have sent through a few feature requests to that email about 3 months back but no reply as of yet, hopefully they read it anyway
I would like Elektron to constantly release a statement about the feasability of the user’s requests.
Is there enough room (DSP power) to add something or is it almost saturated?
This way a lot of time will be spared on writing meaningless requests (if saturated) and more time will be spent at making music.
Yeah blame Elektron for not making music lol
Gotta leave some features for the DT MkII.
The Digitakt has had so much added and tweaked, it’s seen so much love.
Maybe they could release a statement once per hour?
