Haha, well, I am biased in that direction myself. Love MBV, early Lush etc.
Looking at the UK RRP/MSRP on the Fender site the American Professional II is £100 less than the Original 60s (£1649 vs £1749).

Anyone have experience with humidifiers? Since I’ve moved my acoustic gets awful buzzy around this time till spring. Almost unplayable.
I’ve never been in a Japanese guitar shop that didn’t have one running 24/7. Doesn’t seem to bother them at all.
That one is really nice too. Painted headstocks would have really capped it off but I know a lot of people don’t like that look.
Mmmmm. I like that on the Ox Blood, Squire model.
Also gotta love the return to pop in whammy bar, only because I threaded mine on the mark 1. When you use it that much (non-stop) for shoegazery, threading isn’t far away.
I have a g&l hss strat. Its fantastic. I cant recomend g&l enough.
Congrats!
That’s the color I’d choose if I go with a rosewood fretboard Jazzmaster. Pondering rosewood vs. maple fretboard in addition to body color.
Rosewood here. I’ve got mine on reserve, deposit down, waiting for the slow ship from California to Sydney.
Got a Collision Devices “Blackhole Symmetry’ on the way too. Another summer of shoegazing love is looming.
Another guitar I’m considering, after the Jazzmaster - Ibanez “Yvette Young” YY10. The fretboard radius is the same as my Eric Johnson Thinline Strat - 12". One deciding factor might be how I feel about the 9.5" radius of the Jazzmaster vs. the 12" radius, although I can’t account for the “deep C” Fender neck shape vs. whatever the YY10’s might be.
I just want the slime green goldflake/sparkle finish
The sparkle green was the first thing that caught my attention too. And it comes with stickers. She had some on in this vid, but seems to have taken them off later - or maybe she has more than one YY10 at her place.
Wow, she is really good!
Anyone have any interest in custom guitars from small shops? My next guitar will be from Creston Guitars. I absolutely love the art, and I like the guy’s design philosophy.
Love the blue Tele w/ the B-Bender
I first heard of Yvette Young through Strandberg Guitars social media. I was bummed to find out her band Covet was in town to play but their show was already sold out.
The comments about Covet’s next album being shoegaze, in response to the Slowly Melting vid, cracked me up. I guess it’s fine for me that the Slowly Melting pedal is sold out - might have been tempted to jump on that one.
Yea G&L guitars are amazing. I played an ASAT Special for years but had to let it go when I needed the cash. Been wanting to get one back but they’re kind of hard to find used for a good price nowadays. I guess people are finally picking up on how good they really are.
I want private lessons! Really interesting tapping stuff, with nice harmonies (first video).
In France we had Yvette Horner
Not really horny. Yvette Older?
The French Yvette had quite a presence!
I like that passage from “Nero” that Yvette Young is teaching in the video so I’d like to start learning from it. It’s not a tuning I’ve worked with and her style is different from what I’m used to playing. It’ll be interesting to find out how it works out on my Eric Johnson Thinline Strat and the Elite Tele. The Strat has a thick quartersawn neck and the tremolo bridge is decked, so it should be able to tolerate all kinds of weird tunings. The Tele has a fixed bridge. The issue I’ve had with the Strat until recently was the sticky lacquer on the fingerboard, which make finger sliding awkward.
Enough of the lacquer has worn off after about 1.5 years of ownership that I don’t feel the stickiness anymore. The nitro finish on the Strat is showing some lines but not cracking yet - kind of have mixed feelings about that. The Tele has an ebony fingerboard which has always felt nice and smooth to slide on.
Man, I really want the tele deluxe in that colour!
