Marquee Moon is a brilliant album, and one I took far too long to warm to. My mistake was in trying to view it as one of the first great New Wave albums. It is actually the last great Prog album.

I can always gauge how much a famous person’s death resonates with me by whether or not I gasp when I read they’ve passed. So far this year I’ve gasped at Russell Banks and now Tom Verlaine. A true musical pioneer.

2023 is really starting to piss me off!
As @plragde says, Marquee Moon is a wonderful album. I’d also highly recommend Tom’s first 3 solo albums: Tom Verlaine, Dreamtime and Flash Light.
