Anyone else using just these two for a minimal setup?

Im sending midi sync & prgm change from the TR8s to the DN but the DN is changing pattern a couple of bars too late 
Do it the other way round.
DN master TR8-S slave.

How are managing whole tracks across the patterns?
Allocating 8 patterns for each track on the digitone (black row for one track and white row for another). So two full tracks in each bank.
On the TR8s was initially thinking the same, so each bank contains two tracks directly linked to the DN parts on pgrm change. That way the 8 variations within each TR pattern can be used creatively for longer loops.
