Is there such a thing as Track Mute/Solo Groups?
For example, in a pattern, I want only track 1, 2, 3 or 4 to play at any one time, so if track 1 is playing and I select track 3, 3 will start and 1 will stop.
And then have other groups from track 5 - 8, 9-12 and 13-16 set up similarly so I can only ever have 4 tracks playing at once in this scenario.
Can’t you get what you want by using the Function & Mute trick?
If not, you can automate mutes in song mode if that helps.
I know I can do it through mutes manually, just wondering if there was a simpler method thats all.
I could easily do it with Bome’s MT, but that means hooking up a PC.
Thinking about it, I have a Midi CPU board unused, I will use that and build myself a custom controller to achieve what I want.
In the kit menu, you have trig and mute controls… The first means “everytime this track trigs, also trig this other one”. Good for layering, but it’s not what you asked for.
The MUTE control is more interesting. It means “everytime this track trigs, kill everything that’s playing on this other one”.
Not the same as the MPC style mute groups, you can’t do that on the MD
Never used an MPC but the mute groups don’t do what I am trying to achieve.
No, theres no such thing like a ‘midi choke’ out the box.
