With Transfer 1.2, you can now keep your firmware updated on all current Elektron devices with a single application, making it the go-to tool for upgrading your gear.
This version is compatible with macOS 10.15 - Catalina - and offers improved compatibility with all current devices, as well as a number of bug fixes. Transfer is continuingly being updated to support the features you expect from using C6, except it will not be relying on SysEx. OS Upgrade is the first feature to see the light.
If you have purchased Model:Cycles you need to upgrade to this latest of Transfer to manage your saved presets on a computer.
Please note that our legacy machines are not supported by Transfer.
What does it will not be relying on Sysex mean?
Transfer would be great if handled samples and Sysex for machines that rely on both like Rytm and DT wouldn’t it?
It will eventually handle projects, sounds for all units on top of sample transfers. But not as SysEx. SysEx will still be there on the units to use with SysEx librarian and other SysEx software, but Transfer will use a different protocol and a new file format. The Model:Cycles is first out with Transfer managing Presets. The Model:Cycle preset files has the .mc-pst ending.
It’s complicated. Digitone is supported but just for drag and drop firmware updates. Saying that it supports Digitone is also a bit misleading. Will see if we can make it more clear. This will change in the future when it will support project and sounds backups.
Not sure I understand. C6 has nothing to do with the OT other than that it supports Turbo MIDI. Everything is done mounting the CF card as a disk in your computer os.
