Triangle wave sounds differently on each track

Hey, I already submitted a ticket to Elektron, but I thought asking here as well. I have an issue with my Analog Keys, namely that the pure triangle wave sounds completely different depending on which track I am using. To demonstrate this, I’ve used the same initialized patch on each track, with the only modification being that I’ve changed the saw wave on Osc 1 to a triangle wave (and I’ve deactivated velocity to volume). Then I programmed a simple sequence with each track successively playing the lowest A note. The result is this:

As can be heard clearly, the triangle wave has a different character on each track, with track 3 being louder and almost chorus-ey, while track 4’s is particularly buzzy. Did anybody else encounter this issue and if so, did running the calibration routine solve the problem? Thanks in advance!

That’s a bit fruity. My A4 is boringly identical on all tracks. Sure you did a clear all on the sounds?
Nice demo btw I’ll be interestede to learn of your solution.

Hmm, very odd. Was it a new Project too?

I would contact Elektron directly before running the calibration process. That’s the advice given in the manual as far as I remember - i.e., only run it when prompted by the machine or on the advice of an Elektron employee.

Hey, thanks for the responses - yeah, it sounds like that on an initialized project, with no Midi In or Out. Elektron support got back to me to tell me to run the calibration routine, so I will report back if that fixed it.

I noticed something similar with reverb sounding different on different tracks on AR2 even though all the settings were identical. I spent a long time trying to see what could be the cause but couldn’t find anything, Not a biggie really but strange.

So yesterday I ran the calibration routine several times, with the end result being this:

AS can be heard, there is still a difference in the character of the waves - track 2 and 3 have louder even harmonics in the upper registers, creating this square/saw-type feel. Funny thing is that after each calibration a different track started sounding buzzy.

(oh, and pretty embarrassingly I found the reason for the “chorused” sound in the original example: I might have by accident put double triggers there, so that two different tracks sounded at the same time)

Would love if somebody else can find the time to do the triangle wave test on their A4/AK.

interesting! i just tried here and Trk 2’s osc sounds much buzzier at that low note.
here’s an audio snip of voices – 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4.

OK, so it seems as if I am not the only one for whom this happens. Which model do you have?

Another variable, though it shouldn’t affect oscillator buzziness afaik, but is Osc Drift on?

It was on when I recorded my examples, but turning it off didn’t change the timbre of the triangle wave.

Drift off on all oscs, restart phase on for all too
