Triggering Digitakt tracks from MIDI IN

I’m using a VPME Trig31 eurorack module to send triggers from my eurorack via MIDI into the Digitakt and currently every output only triggers Track 1.

I’m wondering if anyone knows how the Digitakt sample tracks receive MIDI.
I would assume it would be Track 1 = Midi Channel 1, Track 2 = Midi Channel 2 and so on.

Is this correct or do I need to think about this differently?

You need to think about reading section 8.4 of the manual: “MIDI Notes”.

Manual was consulted previously but my Digitakt wasnt behaving as the manual states it should, hence my question.
