I wish there was more stuff with that claustrophobic, druggy atmosphere like early Tricky or Mezzanine. Nothing I’ve heard has come even close. Burial is pretty much the only one who can rise up to their level, altho stylistically he’s naturally quite different.

Curious if there’s much contemporary stuff in the trip hop vein? I’ve always loved the sound and vibe of it… has it morphed into something else? Was it a product of its time and place (Bristol in the 90’s)? Any recommendations for new music with a similar feel?

I think 100 waters is pretty new
New carnations of triphop (after bristol with portishead tricky and massive attack) can be bonobo and 100 waters. I thought i made triphop on my digitakt, friends of mine say its no triphop
