I’m having a great deal of trouble upgrading to the new OS; never had trouble before. I’ve tried using Transfer and C6, but when I do, suddenly my Digitone isn’t recognized. What am I doing wrong? Should I be using something else?
I’ve never had any trouble. You do realise that C6 is 32bit (i.e. not suitable in Catalina) and Transfer and C6 will not see the device if you leave it in OB mode. This is something which may come to Transfer over time, but C6 will not be developed further. You have to upgrade when the device is in USB-Midi mode. This is mentioned in the clarification notes just after the announcement.

I’m not using OB, and I’m using Windows 10. I’m also having the same issue with updating my Digitak to the new OS. So how do I update my Digis? Any ideas? I don’t remember how it was done previously.
Have you ensured OB mode is off and that USB Midi is enabled and that MIDI is set to use teh USB port and not just the DIN ports.
The documentation for firmware explains all the steps for upgrading
Have you ensured that Transfer is up to date ? Fetch the latest version which accounts for the fact that later computer operating systems can’t run C6 - functionality in transfer is added over time - support for os upgrades is a recent thing

As it turns out, I was using an outdated version of Transfer. I got both Digis updated; Digitak was easy, but I struggled with Digitone (I think my computer was being a bit temperamental). I guess I need to consider updating Transfer and C6 a little more often. Thanks for your help.

Huh. I wonder why Transfer is not listed in the downloads section of the Digitone support page. C6 is the only item listed there. Perhaps just an oversight?

Tried transfer app, both normal and legacy mode, will not upgrade to latest OS. Tried different USB leads, no good.

yes usb is set to midi. it just doesn’t connect. no messages
tried a midi cable now, still no good
If The digitone has an older OS, you should use C6. Only the new OS support transfer.
