Unable to enter "EARLY STARTUP MENU"

My Machinedrum is refusing to enter the “EARLY STARTUP MENU” on start when holding the [FUNCTION] key and powering up - anyone know of alternative approaches? I’m on the 1.63 firmware, it’s an SPS-1UW. No other issues that I’m aware of.

So the function button works fine in normal use ?

Yep, I can use it to switch to the “mute” track mode etc without issues.

Seems very much like this is a case of simple human/user-error, but so far, can’t quite see what I’m doing wrong :blush:

I’ve tried:

  1. power off
  2. unplug all midi cables
  3. unplug power cable, power on, off, power cable back in
  4. hold down [FUNCTON], power up
  5. wait

After this, the OS just boots to the normal page.

I’m regularly using the FUNCTION key during regular usage (jamming, mainly), and it’s never failed to work.

Bit stumped, do I need to send it back to basecamp for a service (and an upgrade to UW Drive perhaps)?

It would be worth you creating a support ticket in Elektron’s website. Then you can base your actions on the information they provide.
