Hi everyone. I’m so extremely happy with my Analog Keys. I am in the process of ordering a new LED replacement screen for it. In the same round, I am interested in upgrading the encoders, so it’s more accurate and speedier. But is that even possible? Is it just the encoders, or also the mainboard?
The MK2 uses endless potentiometers not encoders, so unfortunately it won’t be possible.
Hmm, what is the difference? Both mk1 and mk2 encoders are endless, and keeps turning…
The encoders output digital pulses read by the AK MCU, the endless potentiometers output resistance read by the MK2 MCU, so a completely different type of signal.
Alright. Thanks for clarifying.
@darenager Perhaps you also know someone who tried this screen replacement.
Any idea if LED gets “bad” after a while, the same way my current LCD did?
I did that screen replacement on my Rytm mk1, but I only kept it for about a year @tengig bought it from me about a year ago, maybe he will chime in.
Edit: Those screens are very nice though be aware the black is more like a dark blue.
The seller says the screen brightness can be adjusted. Then maybe the blueish tint could be black that way?
Weren’t those screens £50 until recently?
Just checked I paid £45, £48.50 inc postage, so essentially doubled in price since 2018.
i have to replace some of my potentiometers of my mk1 soon. Has anybody discovered a better part with metal shafts?
Potentiometers are much better
