Vermona PerFourmer MKII

Anyone used a digitakt to sequence this?

For anyone with the cv/gate model, I’m getting rid of this converter box:

https://www.elektronauts.com/t/fs-us-passive-converter-box-50/189503

I ran 1/4” cables to it and then plopped it next to my euro rack cases.

I use a digitakt to sequence perfourmer, why ? Any help ?

Hey, was just curious as to how well it works.

It work well but it’s very basic. Perfourmer don’t have midi CC, only Velocity and ModWheel can modulate the synth.
But, DT can enter 4 midi note -> Perfect for 4 synth.
I like to have multiple notes on differents tracks but same channel. Muting / unmuting midi track change the melody.
Realtime Delay/Reverb and compressor on Audio in, 2 separate channel. I like to hard pan to have kind of 2 synths.
And with the last DT update, I tried some loop sampling. It work so well. Sampling a dumb loop on 4/4, then use Slice engine and making a more complex sound.
Also, Perfourmer is a very beautiful sounding synth, but very always the same sounding synth. Sampling in the Digitakt allow to be more versatil with more filters, LFO and PLocking reverse, start points, slices, Pitch…
All I miss from DT is an arpeggiator, but sometime I sample directly the arpeggio from the Keystep apregiattor playing. (Keystep -> DT midi in - DT midi out -> Perfourmer)

I also tryed OT + Perfourmer, love the arpegiator but the effects on the OT are meh.
Advantage on the OT is the stereo sample, Perfourmer can be panned so it’s cool to keep that feature.
But I feel less creative with OT than with DT.

yeah I paid 950 USD in 2018. seems I got in just before the curve of these getting recognized for how awesome they are. works for me! glad it’s getting the attention it deserves!

This is how i like to program it as well – either one of the poly modes with multiple tracks feeding into it at once. The results are always gorgeous.

Thanks man, thats really useful info.

I like the hard pan idea. I can see that being useful for keeping the bass clean, but adding some nice delay and reverb to the rest.

I think the octatrack may be a bit too much for for me atm, but the digitakt may be ideal. Especially with the 1.5 update.

Really liked the sequencer in the models, so being able to use that with the Vermona would be cool.

Yeah you can’t go wrong with DT, It’s so powerfull right now.
OT shine for performance mixer really. For making music I feel DT much more convinient.
A sampler and a synth is all you need. DT + Perfourmer you have the best sampler + the best synth

My PERfourMER is sequenced by the DT but the Audio is handled by the OT. The OT Main Out goes in the DT and the Cue Out goes in the DN. This way, I can record Loops in Mono or Stereo.

Arturia Microbrute has exactly one VCO.

It goes through its Low Pass Steiner Parker Low Pass which is fed into
a Vermona Retroverb configured as a High Pass filter.

The GATE OUT of the Microbrute is routed to TRIG IN on the Retroverb.

The Envelope Out of the Microbrute was ported to the VCF CV IN on the Retroverb.

The output of the Retroverb feeds a Boss EH-2 Enhancer.

The perFOURmer is controlled by the blue keybed controller.
In Mono M1 mode:
It is configured as Sound 1=noise with ADSR for filter/amp
Sound 2 =sawtooth with ADSR for filter/amp
Sound 3 (muted) sine wave as Filter FM to Osc4 with ADSR for filter/amp
Sound 4 sine wave Filter FM from muted Sound 3 with ADSR for filter/amp

100% analog
100% live to H1 recorder and FZ-1000 DSLR 720p

This truly is a magical synth.

I just love playing around with phasing LFOs it’s so cool to phase them in and out.

Beautiful.

For those interested, I replaced my perfourmer with 4 Behringer model Ds and the vermona 4*LFO module. similar experience, but with the minimoog sound :star_struck: !

interesting to combine the Vermona fourMulator with Cirklon because the Cirklon will do the basic round-robin triggering that the Perfourmer does. I imagine with some Cirklon trickery you could accomplish most of what the fourMulator does, but I also bet it’s more fun and less program-ey to do it with the fourMulator. cool idea! (even though it involves Behringer :face_vomiting:)

Has anyone tried feeding modular level signals into the External INs on the perFOURmer?

The sound though … :star_struck:
