I am probably going to delete this in embarrassment as soon as I learn the answer. But thanks!

I think so.
Tempo Sync itâs a full tag on the Mkii
Thanks, all, for the replies! The Woody Guthrie-inspired âThis Machine Protects Socialistsâ had occurred to me.
I have a new question, then: what would a âtempo syncâ tag on a sound suggest about the sound? I am seeing it in sound packs.
Iâd guess those are sounds with prominent tempo synced modulation.
Thanks. I had thought that most uses of an LFO would be tempo-synced. I should just search by the tag and audition all the so-tagged sounds to see if I can hear the commonality.
Yeah, lfos are usually tempo synced,
except for the speed settings with the little dot, those are synced to 120BPM (ensures patches sound the same, regardless of the tempo).
What I meant was, that under this tag, youâd find sounds which have heavy tempo synced modulation, like when you turn down the modulation, it significantly changes the sound. Similar to the tag âSEQâ on other synths.
Just a guess, tho^^
Got it. And oh! there are sounds with âSEQâ in the name, and I didnât understand that either! So much to learn.
The meaning of those tags can obviously differ from synth to synth, but SEQ on synths without proper sequencer usually features sounds which sound âsequencedâ, usually from the use of arps, mod sequencers and/or lfos, often multiple mod sources are used. One arp/mod seq or lfo might modulate the pitch and thus creates the note sequence, other mod sources usually are used to accent certain notes in the sequence + additional modulation on filter or stuff like that. You can hold one key and it sounds like itâs driven from a sequencer.
ohhh I was wondering why TMPS sounded familiar but also notâdidnât bother turning on my mkii to check
