In the sound pool and sysex dump page i get this block symbol next to the sound names when i first turn on the Rytm, then at some point, (after doing what?), it disappears on most of the sounds, but one still has the symbol.
At first it’s there even on empty sound slots. I noticed it last night. What does it signify? Couldn’t find any reference to it in the manual.

No direct knowledge but as a guess, the code may not yet have access to the storage as things boot up in sequential order behind the scenes. Things getting instantiated or currently inaccessible might default to “locked” until whatever r/w parameters are read.
This indicates if that particular sound is currently used in a track or not.
I’ve been checking this before on my DNK, which uses the same sound browser. Any sound from the sound pool I’m assigned to a track via trig locks got marked by this symbol.
That’s different from what you said above. Yes, it appears it’s to indicate a sound has been locked somewhere in the project. It’s not to do with assigning a sound to a track though.
