I’ve always used a PC for backing up my Elektrons. I’m going to attempt to backup on my MacBook Air and want to make sure I get a solid transfer.
Thx!

I use Overhub to record, but if you’re just talking about doing a backup I can’t imagine it matters at all. The cheapest, dumbest USB cable you can find should work the same as anything else.
Just a regular USB cable
The cables that come with Elektron boxes do fine.
The supplied cable works with a PC but not a MacBook with USB-C inputs. I’ve tried with an adapter before doing a transfer with another piece of gear and had problems.
I bought several of those to replace all my USB B (?) cables. Can’t fault and cheaper than adapters.
I use this Anker USB-C -> USB-A hub on my Mac Studio and previously on my M1 MBP and occasionally with my HP Chromebook.
In the early days, off-brand USB-C cables were sometimes dangerously out of spec - they could damage your device. I’ve never had trouble with Anker cables for data or power, and my Anker power banks have been excellent companions when traveling.
