Its from season 1 of true detective, definitely worth watching if you like gritty crime thrillers.
Agh, I misread the title…MUSICAL advice…
In which case it was from a painter friend.
“Don’t wait to feel inspired, just create”

My guitar teacher ones said:
Focus on the beginning and the end of a solo, that’s the only part people will remember…
I’ve come to use this in my work life as well, whether it’s with a new job or if it is with a new project. Get a strong start, coast in the middle and when the light at the end of the tunnel starts to appear, go out strong…
Ha, Homer always knows best!
Leave some holes in the music. Don’t play so many notes.
Johnny Marr said “inspiration finds you working” which means nothing is going to happen if you’re not doing something creative.
…understand what this means.
Complete your 10000 hours
Do your job. There is no such thing as inspiration coming out of thin air.
Less is more (in terms of equipment)
Still struggling to take this advice, but definitely improving!
The late, great Mark Hollis:
"Before you play two notes, learn how to play one note, y’know. And that, it’s as simple as that really. And don’t play one note unless you’ve got a reason to play it.”
