I laid down an entire pattern and finally added some bass and shakers but lo and behold, a huge amount of clicks started happening.
The way I see it, if I can fill that sound space up the Digitone should have no problem handling it. So is it a processor/hardware issue, an engine issue, bugs or what?
It’s an amazing synth but I might be returning it until it’s fleshed out because building a song up to its peak only to hear a bunch of clicks was pretty disappointing, even though the experience up until then was great.
I had the voice menu open and as far as my eyes can tell (at 120BPM) there was never a time 8 voices are used but I’ll record the screen today so I can slow it down. Also don’t use unison which would cause that problem to become worse.
For those not used to adsr envelopes, too short of an attack time can cause clicking with certain oscillator shapes. Try increasing either the oscillator or amp attack slightly. This has nothing to do with the digitone -my all analogue moogs can be made to click slightly on attack too.
Internal gainstaging errors leading to clipping tend towards more of a crunchy gritty noise than what I’d call clicking usually.
And of course there’s always the possibility that your output is too hot for your mixer or interface. Check with the headphone out and be sure you’re hearing it there too.
The problem is the kick is absolutely fine on every other pattern, except on this pattern on building up. It’s a bit frustrating to have to alter the kick I’ve used to fill 3 other patterns.
