What’s difference between Am( from osc2 Page 2 ) and sync mode 2/1 & 1/2

What’s difference between Am1/2 ( from osc2 Page 2 ) and sync mode 2/1 & 1/2 ? When im turning on Am 1 as i know osc 2 parameters modulating osc 1 . Same happens when im turning on sync mode with 2/1 . So whats difference?

AM - basically multiplying one oscillator by the other. Always a square/pulse wave modulator, even on some non-square oscillator waveform selections. So it’s like chopping up the modulated wave.
Try setting both oscillators to square waves and detuning one slowly. You should hear weird atonal modulation effects.

Sync - when the sync level is turned up all the way, when one oscillator completes a cycle, it forces the other oscillator to the start of the cycle too. 1/2 and 2/1 options set which oscillator is affecting the other. Sync levels lower than 100% mean that the synced oscillator only gets reset when it’s close enough to the start of the cycle (like the syncing oscillator only has limited “strength” to yank the other one to reset)
Try setting 1>2 and full sync level, and raising the pitch of oscillator 2. You get a characteristic “hard sync” sound, goofy overtones but still tonal.
