What's next for Elektron?

to the next next thing? really? are they not stretched thin enough for you? haha

They are doing fine IMO, but whatā€™s the name of this thread?

Digiwave - Wavetable synth with a twist, Digidrum - digital drum synth, no samples, Digiloop - Mixer with looping functionality and song mode to tie everything together and allow for seamless transitions.

I like a line of giant Pocket Operators :joy:

ā€¦and Pocket Operators are the ones where you can save pattern chains.

Is that ability in the new ones? Awesome

Iā€™d say digi drumsynth next. MD successor with a twist.
that thereā€™s a bit of wavetable in the digitone already that might mean a wavetable digi might be shelved.

maybe. of course Iā€™m totally guessing too.

I like the sound of a looping mixer

ok I say looping taktmixer next.
digimix

I think the Heat was a learning lesson for Elektron in their intention of making immediate interfaces- I donā€™t think it was ever an intention to be a long term destination for them.

I donā€™t see them making a multi-FX box either especially with the Zoia or whatā€™s it called being offered

If I had to bad guess it- Iā€™d say theyā€™ll make an imitation digital modular next

Either that or a box thatā€™s like a pumped up version of op1 tape machine

Iā€™d. love an elektron all in one modular where the sequencer tracks and track modulation can interact with other tracks.
that for me would be MM mk3

yes please

Most likely- their next project will be a digital drum synth now that Iā€™m thinking about it

Really really would like a modern take on a 4 track with effect sends and more than just a stereo input.

Donā€™t even need any crazy effects just pitch

The op-1 is nice but Iā€™d like to be able to use more than just 1 input.

Iā€™d imagine it would be something that you could use OB on- connect a A4/DT/DT/AR and you could record your tracks on that instead of a computer

That sounds awesome and Iā€™d love to see something like that happen

Digibass, Digiwave, Digikeys and finally a Digiflex where you can customise the feature set and firmware options.

Digibone

  • itā€™s durable
  • dogs love it
  • itā€™s made of bone

Charlie McMahon demonstrates the Digibone

Actually this is pretty cool! ā€œThe dog loves it too.ā€ Thereā€™s another video of it that follows.

Added: The ā€œFace Bassā€ ā€“ hope this guy trademarked that, itā€™s good.

Elektron should do a hybrid next.
Expand on the fm synth to include more digital synthesis, running into analog filters, vcaā€™s etc.
Much more knobs as well would be great

In the video with Simon he refers to building the Digitone on the Digitakt ā€œplatformā€ so it took much quickerā€¦

He also mentions that the Digitone has two of the processors from the Digitakt and processes sound internally at 96k 32bit resolutionā€¦
