Which monitors do you use?

I’ve got a pair of yamahas, genelecs, and m-audio’s, and the best mixes come out of the m-audio bx-5’s … I have no clue why, it’s not like I don’t like the other monitors better cause I do… but somehow the bx-5 compensate for my mixing skills

Ahhh. Now I understand.

They don’t forgive though
If I get a good enough mix on these, the mix will sound as good on pretty much anything (Media player, car, stereo…)

To be honest I haven’t tested too many monitors…
But I guess what you are describing sounds like the perfect monitor.
or me they just work and the price is right!

I use JBL and Yamaha monitors and for the money they work great.

I’m a huge MSP head. I’ve got the 5s and the 10Studios. Great great tools.

JBL LSR 305s over here. Highly recommended.

Nice. Beautiful monitors. I currently use the A7X with sub. Love them. Don’t really feel the need for the sub most of the time, but it’s nice to have. I used to have a set of vxt4’s, which were great, but I relied a lot on the sub with those, and my room, while treated, isn’t perfect.
With the Adams I can get what I want without pushing the sub, and thus avoid the bass buildup in the corners I was getting before.

The A7X was going to be my first choice but I found the A77X for about the same price so it was a no brainer. Like you said, I really don’t need with these but after listening to some old mixes I’m going to have to go back and fix those at some point in time.

Same here ! Those monitors are incredible for the size!

If I was going to upgrade the T7v’s I’d probably go for the A77x’s.

Also noticed the Xone 96, same mixer I use.

I’m on the hunt for an upgrade from HS5’s that are fun to produce on… Looking for something handsome that has more bass extension and SPL, not too big, currently eyeing Dynaudio LYD-7s, Amphions…. Anything else I should be looking at? Thanks!

I’m very loosely thinking of going from a pair of studio monitors to a 4 speaker setup. My room has desks in a quite wide horseshoe and currently only monitors at the middle station. Was wondering about adding an extra powered monitor at each end so with some switching have a stereo pair close to facing me wherever I’m working. Not sure how to deal with the left monitor needing to become the right channel when switching pairs?

Anyone else done/thought about doing this?

Yamaha and JBL work great for me. I’d like to get some Neumann and Focal at some point to up my monitor game to see if they make a difference to me.

Genelec 8350 and 8330 (for the other end of my longish room)
together with some acoustic treatment, the best investment since ages!

I had the KSD C88-R before, and i like Genelecs a lot better

Genelec 8351B a present to myself after a compensation payout. Don’t drive so a car was out of the question.

Had a pair oft Tannoy Ellipse 8 (active) for a few years togwther with the TS10 sub. Their sound was very installation critical. In my small Berlin flat they where ok. I sold them to a friend because my wife inherited birds and it made no sense to listen to nice monitors with loud birds in the room.

In his room with bigger distance and placed in the corners they’re huge! They compete with big Geithains and… well I wouldn’t need the Geithains there. But I must say that the Geithains sound the same whereever you place them.

ATM I use my old shitty KRK RP5. Want to build my own speakers in a few years. But in my actual acoustic Situation the KRKs are really bad (even if they can sound quite better in another situation). I really hate the sound ATM. Mostly monitoring with my STAX SLS 2050 set until I have nice speakers.

Anyone uses Questeds?
