XEHPA: Digitone Preset Question?

The factory press Xehpa on the Digitone.

Can someone explain to me what is happening on Track 2? The color is purple. I can play the sound and adjust LFO, ect.

It seems like it play for 5 notes only but I am unable to record any notes to it?

What is the technique employed on this track of this preset? It is obviously something I am not able to do yet and would love to learn.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you so much for not saying the pattern number of the wanted soundset, I can’t wait to get home to scroll every damn factory preset to seek it :heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

Search the manual for “magenta” (not purple).

Purple/magenta indicates that the track has pattern based mute.

Sorry let me check…

Magenta…so much more sophisticated …makes sense…

“based mute”

What does that mean? I guess I don’t understand how to record to this track and over-ride this setting?

Thank you for real

Pattern based mutes

There are two mute modes global and pattern mutes. The purple/magenta color means the mutes are in pattern mode

Mutes only affect the sequencer, meaning you can still play the track chromatically but notes on the sequencer don’t trigger. Unmute the track and you will be able to hear what you record to the sequencer.

Thanks for that
Appreciate your time to respond.

I don’t see what’s funny about that. It’s the right link and the right search term. 10 seconds later you would have known everything about pattern mutes.

My post was jesting myself for not making that connection on the color description on my own.

That being said, the word magenta in my language and vocabulary is a color term, I literally don’t think I have ever used in conversation until this thread. Literally.

Once again, laughing in a good nature way at myself in my commentary. Don’t take it personally.
