Quick question, can you load in stems from say ableton and then use the bluebox to process the stems with external fx using the aux I/O?

Would be a cool extra thing to do when you just want to add some extra live performance FX to finish of your track.

Fixed in firmware 1.09 apparently. Havenā€™t had a chance to try it out yet.

Didnā€™t grab 1.09 in time and now theyā€™ve taken it down because midi-learn is broken.
Not personally bothered about midi-learn. Did anyone grab 1.09 in time and can share pending 1.10?
Thanks!

Hey @dcsux,
Ping me a PM with your email and Iā€™ll send it over.

Nice one! Cheers. PMing

I would also like to know about this!

Yep. See page 38

Have to be 48khz wav.
You can then setup up a send (eg. Through out 2) and return through any of the inputs.

(Havenā€™t tried it yet but intend to)

Thanks, will rtfm :expressionless:

Hey folks - I got a Bluebox and Iā€™m very impressed with it overall - I still need to work on getting more familiar with the workflow of this thing but hereā€™s a jam I recorded straight into the BB - one thing I was surprised at was how loud each track needs to be to record at a good levelā€¦ fortunately I was able to boost the level of each one in Ableton when I mixed it and the sound quality was extremely good - very clean and pristine. Anyway, I love this thing - it means I can work away from the computer and either have a whopping great live set up or just work on ideas with the DT and other hardware - plus my bass FX

PS how the hell do you get YT vids to appear on these boardsā€¦?

@circuitghost apologies if I missed this (this thread is deep), but did you end up keeping the BlueBox and if so, how do you use it with your SSL SiX? I have a 12 channel Mackie which is running into one of my SSL SiX channels, and definitely detect a loss of quality than if I plug straight into the SSL SiX. Iā€™m thinking I can plug my modular setup / synths into the BlueBox, run that into my SSL and then save the SSL for my microphone / guitar / bass. And I can have the SSL routed back into the BlueBox as well if I want to do some improvisational recording / demoing with my guitar. But maybe I should just get a second SSL SiX and send both to my Apollo audio interface.

Hey, well, I still have it but the SiX is my main weapon of choice and I use it on its own. For whatever that answerā€™s worth

I think Iā€™ll get the BlueBox under the guise of using it as a mixer to replace my Mackie since it has way more flexible routing. And then run that into the SiX (which will also serve as my mic / guitar preamp) into my Apollo. I mix ITB so our use case is slightly different I suppose. I appreciate the insight!

That other thread thatā€¦something like ā€˜traded in AH for the SSL Sixā€™ really fascinating stuff there recentlyā€¦mostly bringing it up if anyone else wants to check it out. Boy that SSL Six is pricey but there is something to it.

Alsoā€¦Iā€™m working out a deal to get a Bluebox lolā€¦there I am on topic!

Really tempted to get one of these to mix my Digitakt and Prophet 12 with its two stereo pairs. The functionality seems great, but Iā€™m less sure about the ergonomics. Tascam Model 12 is the opposite. Ooor I could just get a better interface with more ins. Decisions, decisionsā€¦

Mine arrived yesterday. Rearranging the studio, and suddenly realized I didnā€™t order enough splitter cables :joy: but boy am I glad I got this (even though I had to pay 200 bucks extra for taxes :sob:)

Did anyone ever find a good stereo breakout cable solution? Iā€™ve seen up thread that this one is too large: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/YMP137--hosa-ymp-137-stereo-breakout-3.5mm-trs-to-dual-1-4-inch-tsf-6-inch

Iā€™m picking up 7 of those Bynccea cables for my 6 stereo instruments Iā€™ll be running into the inputs, but Iā€™m looking to route four mono outputs to a pedal board, Eurorack, Digitakt, and Norns and I think having the signals split at the Bluebox is the easiest solution.

that hosa fits fine. itā€™s more of an oval so you can rotate it and get a few snugged in there together without any issues.

sweet - thanks - I also just saw these recommended on the 1010 Music forum and I believe they come in a 4 pack so I may just pick up 3 sets. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/BMMPCY--black-market-bmm-ytrs-tr-stereo-breakout-cable-3.5mm-trsm-to-left-and-right-3.5mm-trs-f

I got the Black Market y cable 4 pack, works well.

I use these and then connect adaptors from stereo 3,5 female to mono 6,3 male. With these I actually can fit larger cables in between (see second link).

Different approach but I couldnā€™t find proper stereo breakouts in Germany - at least for an acceptable price.
