Nice save :sunglasses:

hahahaha, thanks

You mean this one? https://www.thomann.de/intl/pro_snake_tpy_2003_kbb.htm

Yeah. This cable and the other pro snake can fit between two narrow cordial cables.

Got one of these on the way now, after a brief stint with a Mackie. How are people finding it so far?
Anyone know if these Klotz cables will work or if the connector is too bulky?

so only using the y cables wont fit right?

Hi, the Y cables are the ones with the big heads in my pic. Wonā€™t fit.

@olelovold Looks too big tbh. But you need to testā€¦

Iā€™ve got a Bluebox on the way and I am kind of disappointed they didnā€™t take into consider the size of cables.

Is it possible to maybe sand down the housing a bit so one could get access to all mono inputs if they wanted? I record very little in stereo.

Canā€™t recommend these enough Black Market BMM-YTRS-TR Stereo Breakout Cable - 3.5mm TRSM to Left and Right 3.5mm TSF | Sweetwater

Splits everything into mono inputs with enough space that you can plug any 1/8 cable in

Donā€™t you then need to also buy 3.5mm to TS or TRS cables though?

I just use 1/4 to 1/8 TS cables from all of my gear (I picked up a bunch from Sweetwater as well - 5ft and 10ft). Iā€™m running a Digitakt, Digitone, Matriarch, Eurorack (Make Noise XOH output), Norns, and SSL SiX into it and all works fine with unbalanced cables.

That makes sense. I just have loads of 1/4 male to male TS and TRS cables already that Iā€™d rather use than buying new instrument cables + adapters. I saw that certain Hosa splitters will fit six in a row, according to an admin on the 1010music forum. So Iā€™m just going to buy three of those for a start and hope for the best lol.

Thanks for your response though : )

A question for those that went with the Bluebox over a small format mixer than can also record: why? (Lol)

Currently frustrated that I canā€™t monitor just the effected signal of the Blackbox when it is being run through an external effects loop, and wondering if using the Blackbox to help with that issue and also recording into a Bluebox then dumping into Ableton for final arranging and mixing would be more efficient and cost effective for my purposes (I currently use a Typhon, Blackbox, and iPad).

As @J3RK mentioned above, my music time is extremely limited, so I need to be lean and mean.

Just playing with ideas at this time, not looking to buy right now.

Thanks in advance of any thoughts.

I bought it for travel use. Thereā€™s nothing even close to add small as it is that can do half of what it can ā€” the Kmix comes closest, but a Blue box plus a UC4 are smaller, can record, and have four more inputs.

I have lots of complaints still, but thereā€™s almost nothing there that I donā€™t think weā€™re likely to see fixed reasonably quickly.

What are those complaints?

I also got it mainly for its size. I needed something I can take with me when traveling and that could allow me to use external send effects and be able to record them separately, have several inputs, that I could just turn it on, jam, record, dump into live and finish. I love it.

How it that workflow working out? Sounds like the dream!

Over the years I realized I donā€™t like synths on my desk when working in ableton.

Plus, jam, record and transfer to ableton would be great to separate creative and work in the studio

Thank you. That sounds similar to how envision using it, so that is helpful. I am still getting my head around the Blackbox, but sending the individual outputs of it into the Bluebox is tempting.

A mixer or audio interface with that many channels would be getting close to Bluebox range so thatā€™s why I am considering it. Portability is also incredibly important to me.

It has been absolutely amazing! I have only a few instruments, but I can record say a bassline on one track, then route the same instrument into another track and come up with a lead and record that onto another track and have the external effect recorded at the same time on another track while the other synth does something else and the digitakt is o the drums (which I then record afterwards with overbridge) for example. I donā€™t worry about timing cause it is all synced via midi. Itā€™s amazing :man_dancing:

Sounds awesome Philip, So the sync playback is tight too?
