A4 Feature Requests

Probably more general request applicable to all Elektron gear - option to disable the “auto-cancel” behavior that happens when selecting values from lists - i.e. choosing LFO destination. The time it takes for the software to return back to previous setting if the current selection is not being changed / confirmed is too short - it totally breaks my workflow when experimenting and not having clear target in mind to dial in - it’s quite annoying and stressful knowing that the LFO will go back to previous settings if I don’t change anything within two or three seconds.

I’ve only had an analog keys for 3 weeks and THIS is absolutely needed.

The odds don’t look great given this has been a perceived issue for ages, i couldn’t agree more, it’s a horrible feeling when editing under that time pressure (it could be mitigated by at least resuming where it just was for a few seconds before resorting to current assignment, this would minimise the disruption of rescanning the destinations)

But it’s been on the wishlists of many for ages, and before this no doubt - i know it’s been bothering me from the get go years before this one from 2016 …

Octatrack’s ridiculous short pattern select window was fixed in the recent update (thanks for that!) and certainly Elektron has massive feature request lists they’re trying to get in a sensible priority order. Maybe one day…

Arpeggio rate adjustment via performance mode.Rate + other arp parameters… and/or allow modulation of arp speed via track envelope or LFO. would make for a super awesome feature. +1 since I’m sure its been requested many times. Feels like the arpeggiator, as solid as it is, remains an after thought, due to its lack of on the fly adjustment ability.

Yes, I agree with this. It hinders the experimentation potential of the A4. It really should have been a top priority to fix this a long time ago.

Agreed, the arpeggiator lacks integration in the overall workflow. In addition to your suggestions, being able to P-lock arp settings would also be awesome (as would having arp midi out on T5 T6).

Again, Pattern mutes!
Makes me sad  the analogs are missing this after using the digitakt & digitone

The strange and frightening purple pattern mute dungeon on dn… Just good to know that with reload project i can somehow escape.
Note to myself: have to test the next time it happens if reload pattern from project is enough to escape. If that works and if they bring reload pattern from project to a4, ok…

It is part of song mode, i think

Yeah, the problem is they only work in song mode and it’s obviously not the same thing

performance mute mode would be better if the trigs were green,
its more in line with other elekton gear and the rytm…
at a glance you could tell they are mutes

If there was a way to have 4 midi tracks behind the main synth tracks, a la Digitone, I would be delighted… it would allow me to run my A4/AR/Sub 37/Peak set up without the need of another sequencer (which I currently use the Digitone for).

  1. (Quick) Performance Macro for all Macros A-J simultaneously. Or give Macro A the opportunity to control Macro B-J, next to T1-CV.

  2. Unison Dry/ Wet as a track parameter in the performance macro

Some new digital oscillators…

light up key buttons while a pattern is playing so you know what notes are being played for additional composing purposes. Does this on the Analog Keys but not the A4.

adjustable volume/amp for sub oscillators.

Key as mod source, with same setup as mod, breath, etc

Performance macro access to ARP settings

Probability to the Parameter Lock only. If set to 0% the trig is playing „normal“.

Quick Performance Mode:the most menu diving not-quick element on this synth. a quick ASSIGN mode would be so great. similar to MidiLean on a controller + DAW. For example, Hold Qper + performance bank trig ( A - J) keep held and proceed to move knobs of whatever parameters you wish to change on the fly (filter cutoff, amp decay, reverb send) and then let go to find one knob easily assigned to multiple parameters. The menu diving should be reserved to trimming and scaling the selections, not having to cycle through the same lists dozens of times for each new patch/kit.
