AR Analog Rytm feature request thread

Do you mean as an additional parameter for the other engines or something else? AR has a Noise Generator machine. But maybe the A4 has some extras I’m not aware of?

Yes from the manual : S&H (Sample & Hold) sets the tuning of the noise
spectrum.
It really make the noise generator more flexible imo

Using the disabled screen would just be for ergonomics live imo. It would be easier to visually recognize that it’s being used as a pseudo-midi track. The amp envelope behavior would ideally allow the unused voices in choke groups to function as midi tracks.

Basically I’d just love a makeshift midi machine in the case that we never get an actual midi machine.

Adding drag and drop of samples from Windows Explorer (or Mac equivalent) to Overbridge to add to plus drive or sample pool would be a game changer.

Also, adding a sampling screen to the overbridge plugin for AR MK2 (with larger waveform and zoom controls), although this would be unlikely since it would require branching the code to the plugin for MK1 and MK2. Thought I just upgraded and noticed that OB control panel recognizes the MK2 and does not display the I/O configuration since it can handle all channels through the high speed USB.

If possible, please consider implementing a way to increase pad visibility in direct day/sunlight. Much needed imho

i would like it if my Rytm (mk1) would turn the screen off after not being used for a bit. specially since i’ve had to have it replaced before. so they tend to burn out.

and this might not be possible. but i assume since the reverb it digital. it would be cool to maybe have some different algorithms to choose from. though IMO the rytms reverb is better then the octatraks. i appreciate it has some different options.

I would really enjoy the workflow of combining fast retrigs with longer parameter slides, without each retrig restarting the slide parameters.

I’m unsure if this would be technically possible if the retrigs are actually interrupting the slide sequence steps behind the scenes…

What kind of processor does the Rytm have? I wonder how much processing power they could squeeze out of it;
would time stretch be out of reach?

I guess they would have added it if it was possible, but if it had the same processor as the Digitakt, wouldn’t the Rytm have some untapped power as it doesn’t have to do digital filters?

Also:
Do anyone think, that cross mod samples with oscillators would be possible? That would be REALLY neat trick.

The AR, DT and OT should have a “consolidate” option, right when you choose a track to assign a sample. It should clear all pages and put the new sample in and things could be much faster and LIVE.

A second LFO! I’m sure it has been mentioned, but since other Elektron devices have 2 LFOs, it seems fair…

Digitakt, Heat and the Models only have one per track. It would be nice to have tho agreed

Also audio input sends to the effects for the MKI ! And mixer screen!

Don’t forget that the heat has extra lfo destination in the modulation settings menu. :slightly_smiling_face:

Now you see… Today Digitakt has 2 LFOs and external-in fx… already waiting for the AR to follow!

Of course along with the DT updates we hopefully get (2nd lfo etc),
I wonder if it would ever be possible to have the base-width filter (tbh I personally don’t care about breaking the analog signal path if required but I know that would obviously not be something they’d do!) or have more than 1 of the analog filters in series (I’m going to assume no)

On the AMP page it would be nice if the HOLD parameter behaved more like the DT. Increasing HOLD to MAX turns it into NOTE length. Currently you reduce to MIN to get NOTE length but this makes it really annoying to get snappy envelope since you have to be very precise.

Perhaps this could just be an option in settings to ‘maintain legacy amp settings’ so we don’t break backwards compatibility.

Aye. Even though I’m selling my AR, what I’ve really wanted all the time I’ve been using it is for the eye-searing brightness to be addressed. Now DT has that too, there’s hope!

Wouldn’t those require more analog circuits?

Don’t forget envelope delay.

But yes. Second LFO would change my life.

FX are digital send effects so don’t think it would be an issue
