Avalon Bassline...worth it?/ Opinion

Don’t think it has anything to do with it being wordpress, I think supposedly 40% of the web is wordpress now. It is just about the type of hosting he is likely paying for. It did load up for a second for me but then broke when I tried to get to the Avalon page.

Yeah I agree theres really no reason to have an outage like this in this day and age

I saw the store! I feel like a Bigfootologist.

I went to check out, but soon I got all the errors. At that time, it was written that there were 202 Avalons. In multiple versions.

I’m wondering whether I’m gonna bother now. Especially considering the loose shipping dates and the upfront payment (I’m not sure but seems the case) etc. It’s something I’d never consider otherwise. I’m still checking every so often but not got anywhere regardless.

I think I’m out, there is a guy on fb still waiting to get his from last year with no communications.

I’m out too. Tbh, I just got hyped up because it’s the last run.

I’m so tired of monitoring this booking that I’m likely to hit the checkout button without thinking, but the price is higher than it was at the beginning, so this 17-hour server down isn’t a sales strategy. I don’t have to feel like it. Of course not, but I’m so exhausted. I want to sleep…

After reading all of your posts and feeling the lust thought I would try to buy one (with the credit card, naturally) but sadly the page is still down.

It’s working a little better with the odd refresh now.

Managed to get all the way to the last checkout page with Avalon in cart to find that the last stage is Paypal integration. With the site behaving as it is, I don’t like the odds of Paypal’s “payment complete” message coming back to the Avalon site with good results for order completion.

Have to shelve this until the site is more stable.

If you’re doing $350k of orders surely you can afford more than the $10/month hosting tier for a single month (or fraction of one.)

@nilsec What’s the relative quickest path to success?

I am such a stubborn idiot. I got all of what I wanted in my cart, progressed to checkout, signed into Paypal, then everything timed out when I tried to change my shipping from whatever the $250 option was to the more reasonable option and now I’m just sitting back with 403s.

I am sure my cart has expired in the meantime ;(

I’m able to load a single page every 4 or 5 hours if I’m lucky. Unfortunately, I’m away for a work trip and can’t keep checking every few minutes, but that’s probably making the problem worse anyway. If I miss this batch, then I’ll be disappointed, but it’s not the end of the world. I already have a unit, but it has a couple faint LED’s and needs to be sent in, but otherwise completely functional. I was just hoping to have a 2nd unit before sending the 1st one in for repair.

If I knew the part that controlled the LED’s (apparently there’s several in the unit and they can go bad), then I’d have a friend who’s very good with synth repair replace it and not have to wait weeks/months with Brian @ Abstrakt.

Similar for me. I decided to try on my way home Just now and got to the checkout, but had two avalons in my cart and only wanted one. Couldn’t get any further and now just 403 errors…

Are people not worried after reading the post about the guy who ordered last august and has received nothing and heard nothing after multiple attempts of reaching out?

I mean, I bought it using Paypal. I can always dispute the charge. It’s not like I’m using my rent money to buy synths or what ever.
