Yeah, such behavior is way beyond unacceptable.
15 months after the money was sent, no news is a bit hard to swallow. Even more if you tried to get your money back and got no answer.

Iāve had my Avalon since early 2017 and had numerous comms with Brian during that period in relation to the initial order, repairs and filter cart orders. Yes, he is slow and yes, he can appear to have disappeared off the face of the planet at times, but he always comes through in the end and Iāve found his customer service to be excellent when you finally get a direct dialogue flowing with him.
I damaged my Avalon when trying to tune it (didnāt read the instructions properly) and I couldnāt get hold of Brian, so I had to send it to a synth repair specialist in the UK as it was already out of warranty anyway. The repair shop made it worse, and it ended up costing me Ā£100+ and multiple journeys across London to still end up with an unwell unit. I persevered with Brian and finally got hold of him a few months later. He repaired and fully serviced it for free and I just covered the shipping costs. He even sent it back to me in a new factory supplied box as Iād just sent it wrapped in bubble wrap and plain box. So, his attention to detail is really good compared to mostā¦when you get hold of him!
Unfortunately, this post doesnāt help to ease the annoyance that a person might feel when being left in the dark, but it will hopefully reassure that they arenāt likely to be abandoned or ripped off

i had the same. i knew what i was getting into, frustrating at times, but always part of the deal
and iām sure when these units start shipping iāll regret and gas so hard for my preorder again haha
sadly i just canāt justify the costs:(
Avalon Final Run Update
All parts & assemblies have arrived and we are currently staging production for the Avalon run. The first units will be shipping the week of January 23. The rollout will be slower than usual as we are also fulfilling VS-1 pledges concurrently. We will be shipping about 15 units per week compared to 25-30 for previous runs (the time required for final assembly, calibration, and burn-in testing is considerable). Fortunately, there are only about 250 units.
The orders will be shipped by order number (chronological). There is a small chance that silver Avalonās will be delayed a few weeks as we start shipping. We found an issue w/ one of the parts - we will know before the holidays and will update you accordingly. Once the orders start shipping we may update with the current order range so you have an idea of when your order will ship.
Thank you for patience! The electronics parts shortages and delays in our VS-1 project really put us back on our heels.

So about 4 months (from end of Jan) for all units to ship. Thatās ok, at least there is a timeline now!

I donāt trust this statement, especially because he said there is a problem that still needs solving, but knowing the man is still alive and working on it is such a bottle of fresh water in the desert.

Exactly. Unfortunately, believe nothing until you either have a shipping notice or your unit just shows up one day. Iām very happy to get an update and see that work is hopefully progressing, but anything unexpected can and usually does happen. Iām still tempering my expectations overall.

Just with the silver ones no? Which also indicates itās probably a superficial issue.
IIRC, there were similar delays/issues with the silver chassis in the early runs.
