Hi all,
Does this thing I purchased come with a computer based editor?
Is it possible to edit patches with a computer or only via button presses?
I have no interest in the sequencer I just want to use it as a synthesizer.
The manual doesn’t describe how you would play sounds with an external midi keyboard is this possible?
It is advertised as an audio interface but apple is not recognizing it as such.
I can’t see any audio or midi drivers included is it plug and play ?
It appears that you may be offering this at a later date ?
“Producers at Sweetwater love Elektron’s Overbridge technology. Overbridge lets you integrate your Digitone synth and sequencer right into your DAW, routing audio to and from your hardware via a single USB cable. Better yet, you get a whole graphic user interface to control every major aspect of Digitone, essentially turning it into a plug-in.”
Overbridge is in (closed) Beta testing at the moment, and not generally available. That will provide you with an editor and streaming over USB and the audio interface aspect and so on, when it has been released.
MIDI control should work just fine right now. What problem are you having?
I would suggest checking out some tutorial videos and reading the quick start guide! There’s some excellent stuff to be found on YouTube.
Sweetwater page you linked clearly states overbridge is not available until a future date. So I guess you could claim false advertising if you totally missed that.
Sweetwater may be overreaching saying they love overbridge after saying it’s not available earlier on the page
You really have to read the advertisement very carefully to realise that it is not overbridge compatible.
It is mentioned MULTIPLE TIMES on that web page .

You should remove all those references to overbridge in my opinon.
The unit is going straight back to the shop today .
It was definitely not hard to spot. And ultimately what’s on the Sweetwater page is Sweetwater’s advertisement. May want to contact them about rewording their advert.
I’m sad to hear you’ll return it. My advice is to hold your horses and wait for OB to be released - beta testing is well underway - but of course you can always re-purchase when it’s ready, if you want to.
None of us on the forum have access to the Sweetwater page; I would suggest contacting them directly if you feel it isn’t clear enough!
(For what it’s worth, it’s the very first thing I noticed when I opened the page. The message is highlighted right under the image of the device, as viewed on an iPad.)
Should I post a copy of my receipt?
“Overbridge is a software extension that allows for the use of Elektron’s analog hardware as a plug-in within a DAW. You can design sounds on-screen using an intuitive and dedicated plug-in, use the knobs and keys on the Digitone instrument, or do both at the same time. Overbridge lets you enjoy precise synchronization and automation while using the strengths of the Elektron sequencer and your software sequencer to get the best of both worlds.”
Same misleading advertising which is obviously coming from Elektron. It’s extremely dishonest what’s going on here.
Yeah this. It’s a great live playing synth but if that’s all you want to do you’re probably better off getting a reface dx, because that way you get the awesome keybed (plus I think someone has made an editor for it? I may be wrong).
Unless you purchased direct from elektron the proper place to complain about how a specific company chooses to promote a product when it is advertised on their site is the place you purchased from, in your case b&h.
Also you should note this forum is a community of people who generally use elektron products and not the actual way to inter face with the company. Actual interaction with elektron employees here is sparse. There is a support email through their official site for communicating with the company. So you may want to consider that as you interact with the individuals here.
You all might be lovely folks I don’t doubt that but this site is owned and run by Elektron. I emailed them too and B and H .
I assumed I had to be wrong and missing something when I couldn’t get it to connect. This seemed like the obvious place to start.
I would love to listen to one patch only and edit it.
How do I do that?
The manual is confusing. I have watched a tonne of youtube videos.
How would I play one sound with a midi keyboard with maximum polyphony?
Plug in a midi keyboard, go into midi settings and make sure auto channel is selected (this means that the keyboard will play whichever track is selected on the Digitone.
Start with an empty pattern, then double tap the T1 button on the bottom right, this will then bring up the sound browser. Browse through, find the sound you like (you can audition with the keyboard) and then hit yes. This loads the sound into track 1 which you can then play with full polyphony and tweak to your heart’s content.
