I guess he said something like this, indeed.
Yeh around the Dictaphone to Toy settings are still high passed.
I don’t understand, since its a harware mod, shouldnt it affect all modes?
ofcourse, it will be more noticable in some, but it should affect the whole pedal right?
I would guess it depends on when the affected subcircuit is in line or not for all modes, but a PCB expert might be able to identify …
Oof yeah I hate when my solder goes all crystally like that, I’ve been told using nicer solder makes it much easier, with my cruddy solder I’ve found you just have to pull off any crystally stuff and work pretty fast to get a nice blob.
Yeah I’m pretty sure it is a blanket hi pass EQ type thing, models just give some digital EQ options some that include a hi pass.
there does seem to be a tempting option here for some micro jump wiring and a mini pot in the case, for those who might not mind modding their GII.
or
I think there might be the need of a 3 way pot/switch, to shortcut the 3 places at the same time without having them connected to each other.
Guess there will be a dip switch for this in mk3 ^^
Chow tape is free and sounds amazing.
I think asking people what they want isn’t always the best idea, they coulda made 2 versions one with and one without the mod and see which sold better.
But I can understand maybe they didnt want the complexity of having 2 concurrent models
Historically CBA has done several iterations of its pedals, Warped Vinyl has a few types and Tonal Recall got the red knob mod.
I think if they made an “entended bass” edition i probably woulda ordered that one, because it logically makes sense for what I run through it, but I have a first run one and it doesnt really bother me.
Exactly.
So originally it had a hard wired High Pass Filter. Removed the bottom end. Now we rip out the HPF, and get full spectrum let’s say.
Each “model” still does exactly what it did before, with its own digital HPF. And that’s exactly what I hear still. But when you select the slight or unity mix, or the “No” model, you hear all the original bass.
Well, I hooked my mk2 to my hydrasynth tonight to give it a fair shake, and let’s just say the pedal and i bonded and become one. I had a friend in town and it was just one of those magical nights where you can do no wrong with what you are playing. we went on an ambient journey for sure. it’s fine the way it is.
I don’t think it’s admitting a mistake so much as recognizing that this pedal is more popular with electronic musicians/producers than with guitar players and catering to the audience that has embraced it.
Just out of curiosity, what could be the advantages of adding a hardware high pass filter, as opposed to adding a digital one?
Its a stereo pedal compared to many of their other pedals so would say it is more marketed towards synths and or drummachines with stereo output.
I concider this as a fail. I cancelled my pre-order because of the highpass and phasing issue after Ricky’s review. They should have made it an option from the back dipswitches from the beginning.
They should cover all costs for returns on a pedal this expensive.
As long as you’re in the returning period, as stated by the law, of course.
Other than that, it is not broken in any way.
Dieter says, “Delete”.
