Anyone found some useful sound design vids? I like the sound design a lot, but I mostly end up with ambient textures!
Both reverbs are so musical I’m very often abusing one of them to get some kind of orchestral sound. Then at some point I just turn them off to see what’s hidden under, and look at this, it’s the beautiful Dreadbox filter having fun its twin oscillators!
The analog part is very well thought, these macros are a pleasure to play with!
8 months after I got it this little box keeps on giving.
Even the sequencer and step LFOs are fun, if not entirely practical.
I’m forcing myself to get used to the note sequencer. Tried to create a 4 on the floor pattern with automation in-between to make something musical/rhythmical.
But I’m still so much faster when using digitakt or Microfreak as a sequencer for the typhon
I wish there were scales ^^
But still, it’s cool to bring for bed jam sessions
saaaame.
scales would make the sequencer a joy to use.
I never understood how this worked. I thought it would be as simple as plugging another synth/drum machine into the input, but I don’t understand how to process it with typhoon effects.
can you recommend any clips showing this to great affect?
You can always use Bank C, Preset 1 (EXT IN).
Bank C, preset “Ext in”. I am currently using the Typhon as a FX unit for my guitar, and sounds BIG.
Quick shout out to the ext. in. Just had a go playing mixer feedback through the Typhon. Love how you get the filter in addition to all the fx. All fair game for modulation. Really nice time was had. Leveled up the synth in my eyes.
The external in of the Typhon does wonders for the Lyra-8 as well.
I can’t wait to get the Nymphes and run it though the effects
That will be a beautiful pairing.
Any word on when the V4 firmware is coming?
It took tech support several weeks to respond to a bug report that I posted for the Beta 4, so i’d imagine they’re pretty far behind with the launch of Nymphes and all that. I would be surprised if we see a formal 4.0 Firmware launch in the next 2-3 months.
I just wish they’d allow notes to be locked to a scale in the sequencer. This thing would then become a riff monster.
That’s what I use my Erica DB-01 for mostly, I love coming up with nasty riffs in keys and scales of my choice. The Typhon would be even better with this addition
I agree, this would elevate it for sure. I am currently using my keystep 37 to take on those duties. It’s scale modes+record mode in the Typhon’s note sequencer is a pretty fun combo
Erase/delete all the notes from the SEQ would be awesome too, do i miss something?
