Id rather have a Perkons than a syntakt. So no, not just you.
I havent see a video or example yet of Perkons working with anything else? Does it blend
I been playing it with my ot/super 6 set up and its really fun and sounds gr8. It all depends on you set up but for me the limitation and hands on is a big plus.
I think Im gonna use it with other setups as well, like Lyra8 for drone stuff or Rytm and efx for a drum battle. I haven’t done any recordings or videos yet, maybe next week?
I think I’ve found my spirit animal.
What is the thing that’s clicked with you? Sound wise it sounds good but not better than previous things I’ve heard from you - must be the interface?
To be fair, I’m not really doing it justice sound-wise just yet, but all the sounds that I want are in there (hats included).
The main thing is the interface and controls, it’s just so simple to get things going and then keep them rolling. It’s so fast and intuitive.
Most of the drum machines I’ve owned I’ve started using them then started thinking about things I need to add to make it all sound right.
With Perkons I’m stripping it all back. Just Perkons and OT will be plenty to achieve my goals.
Really happy with the sound of this machine so far but it does seem a little buggy? Midi clock and midi inputs not working for me at all at the moment - anyone else in the same boat?
I tried and failed to get it to receive MIDI from my OT, but it’s working fine as MIDI master.
I’ve had a couple of bugs where trying to change algorithm on a step changes the algorithm on another track and sometimes track odds and probability settings aren’t working but I’ve not been able to repeat them reliably and I haven’t read the manual enough times to rule out user error.
As someone pointed out above, Midi & Analogue seem to be labelled the wrong way round in the Clock Source Selection section in the manual. I can sync to an external audio signal as a clock source when I select the button labelled as MIDI in the manual, but a midi clock input doesn’t seem to do anything whichever button is selected.
This is the best one yet. Right up my alley.
Yes I’ve noticed many soft bugs, but I’m still getting to learn the machine so it’s hard to tell.
For example: The Vintage bbd switch in the settings doesn’t seem to be located at the position indicated in the manual. (switch 6 instead of 5)
Kits will reset only after a tweak a parameter when changing patterns.
What? This sounds terrible! Did anyone manage to set Perkons as MIDI slave?
Is there any BPM drift? Had this with the DB-01 being about -10 BPM below the clock.
Completely unacceptable at this price.
Yeah, so I’ve set clock source to analogue (step 3 of track one in the config menu) and now transport and clock are working perfectly from my OT.
Chill, it’s a bit of mislabeling in the manual, no big deal.
Still not working for me, even with the Clock Source switched around. Guess I’ll have to wait for a firmware update … have let them know.
Samen thing happened here. But can’t report on it either because it’s not consistent. It seems to happen when loading a new pattern
Hey - Yep, have figured that much out but sadly for me it still doesn’t work with either option. Audio trigger in does work however.
Then i suspect it’s something with the clock source you’re sending. I’ve been successful in sending clock to it with multiple elektrons so far :).
Also try turning it off and on again. One time that was needed to make the clock work sync.
I used my Torso to send midi clock to the Perkons with out a problem, but as @Fin25 pointed out I think that I had to set in to Analog in the conf menu, Midi didn´t work as expected.
My son(he´s 8) had a go at it today after school and he got something pretty cool going in 5 min, maybe the software needs a little tlc but the performance aspect is Ace!
