Yes.
It’s as close to instant as I’ve ever experienced.

Cheers.
There’s a little quantization going on I’m fairly certain. You can hear it step when moving very slowly through the tune knob. It’s therefore also pretty easy to get it into tune with other instruments because of that.
And regarding instant: very, like Fin says. The sets I’m doing now literally start with an empty pattern and go from there. And I’m not even that quick yet.
The only setup that i do is twisting all knobs and switching all switches so i know that all parameters are where they physically are. I’d love for Erica to add a ‘manual mode’ where the all parameters are reset to their actual value. Currently when turning it on it loads you last used kit
Right, I’ve sold my MPC live 2 and returned my Syntakt. Looks like I’m getting a Perkons.
Just to say hi fellow Anniversary Octatrack brother! I follow your choices with great hope😀
Probably next year though…
Haha. The OT anniversary edition went a long time ago… but family is for life man
I’ll let you know
I’d recommend ordering it from a store rather than directly from Erica, as they seem to be coming out a bit quicker via some of the smaller retailers.
I’d recommend Elevator Sound, they have an EU operation now too.
Does the delay sync to tempo or is it only by ear?
No delay sync.
It’s worth noting as well that delay values are not saved within Kits or Patterns, so need to be adjusted accordingly when changing patterns or kits and can’t be plocked either.
Cheers. Have you played much with the individual send and returns yet?
I’ve run the Sherman on a send and had pretty good results.
I’m just setting it up with all four voices going out individually into the Octatrack, you’ll probably hear some of the results of that over the next week or so.
I’m starting to think I need a Perkons running into my OT.
Good GAWD this thing is perfect!
You don’t fuck about, do you.
Well, we have baby #2 arriving next week so I don’t have a lot of time for messing about.
Edit: plus it just struck me that this machine is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Great sound and an immediate interface with enough depth to get stuck in to but not be overwhelmed by options. The per voice send and returns also mean I can expand the sound palette in the future. Drums, drones and distortion. It’s perfect.
Congrats! (The Perkons is nice too.)
