How do I clear yellow lock trigs?

Happy Sunday fellow Elektronauts.

I have a question: I have a pattern with a bunch of yellow lit trigs where I’ve P-Locked some expression on the filter. All good. But how do I clear my pattern of yellow? I have tried holding down the trig, and clearing the lock. But the trig stays yellow.

I’d love to keep the notes, but lose all the P-Locks and ‘start again’ with my recorded expression. Hope that rambling nonsense made sense.

Thanks!

Already Monday in some places! :content:

It’s possible to clear all locked parameters in live recording mode, holding Function + No IIRC…
You can also erase plocks of one specific parameter holding No + pressing the knob that corresponds to the parameter.

Not sure it clears lock trigs, but at least you can redo your automation…

Haha, never knew that, I tried func+clear and the param.

It didn’t seem to work.
Are trigs yellow only when they are lock trigs without notes?
I want to clear my pattern of yellow trigs.

It works. Just tested.

Live Recording (Hold Rec+Play)
Press Function + NO untill you erased all lock trigs.
Edit : in fact, no. It reloads the pattern!
Func + No works for OT/A4/AR

Yes.

I have no doubt it works, I just can’t do it right!

I tried holding down function and NO, but it reloaded a pattern!

Hold function then press the yellow trig keys, you can press multiple at once.

Got it. So they have to be individually cleared, there’s no function for clearing an entire track of yellow locks?

Are you sure you’re in Live Rec mode (Rec+Play —Rec button will flash) and not Step Rec? Are you holding down the following buttons for the duration of the loop (it wipes in real-time as the pattern plays)?

*Func+No for clearing all yellow automation/param locks in a track.
*Param+No for clearing a specific param in a track.

I’ll try it and get back to you. But last time I did this, it re-loaded the pattern.

Sorry mate, this doesn’t work:

to clear individual locks:
Hold specific trig / CLEAR. But the yellow light doesn’t disappear. Why?

But I was in live recording mode (record flashes), I hit FUNC / NO and it reloads the last pattern. Doesn’t wipe anything in real time at all.

What exactly does the yellow light mean?

Yes, you’re right, sorry, my bad.
This shortcut works with Octatrack, and as I reload the pattern without lock trigs I thought it worked!
I’m checking the manual to find another way…

It means the trig is a lock trig. :content:
It means the note is not triggered.
It is blinking if there are plocks on it.

Maybe I missed something but it doesn’t seem possible to remove all parameter locks of a track without deleting regular trigs (notes).
Possible on OT, and A4/AR IIRC…
Feature-request@elektron.se ?

What’s possible, apart from removing yellow trigs manually with Funtion + Lock trigs press :

Press and hold [TRIG], and then press the DATA ENTRY knob of the locked parameter if you wish to remove a single parameter lock. You can erase all parameter locks from a trig if you remove the note trig and then enter it again.

Press [NO] + one (or several) of the [TRACK] keys to erase a sequence of recorded trigs on a specific track (or on several tracks) in time with the sequencer. This procedure erases the trigs on all steps reached by the sequencer on the corresponding tracks. You can also remove specific parameter locks on a track in real time. In LIVE RECORDING mode, press and hold [NO] and then press and hold the DATA ENTRY knob corresponding to the parameter that you want to remove.

Ok cool. I’m not going crazy.

  1. Yes I can remove individual locks with function/trig key, and I can see the inverted value disappears and resets, but the trig light stays yellow. Why is that?

  2. Am I getting confused between p-locks and lock trigs?

If you’ve removed all the locks from a trigless trig, it’ll probably still be yellow, because it isn’t sending a note - so you can decide to add parameter changes to it without laying it down fresh again. Trigless trigs (yellow) change parameters without sending a new note. Flashing red trigs contain a note and p-locks.

Yep.

You mean Trig+ knobs?
You can remove several lock trigs with Fn + Trig press.

Plocks can be on trigs or lock trigs.
Lock trigs don’t send notes.

You’re not ready for Octatrack yet…
It has trigs, trigless trigs, trigless locks, one shot trigs, slide trigs, swing trigs, rec trigs, arp trigs, lfo designer trigs…

If I’m not mistaken, you can remove Yellow Trigs manually. If there is a note on that Yellow Trig, removing it will keep the Trig Red.

Yes with Function+lock trig press.

If you press the lock trig without Function, it becomes red anyway. If there is no note on it, it takes the current note.

Creating a lock trig from a red trig keeps the note.
Creating a lock trig with Function doesn’t plock a note.

 trig 1, trig 2…counting trigs to sleep…
