Micromonsta 2

Beware! This slot is already taken by a mighty synth!

Are those presets on the Micromonsta? It sound amazing! So, you are sequencing it from the Digitone in bi-timblal mode?

Hi. Iā€™ve not posted any clips. Just playing with a Keystep so far. Sounds great though. Eventually I will get it set up with the DN.

Absolutely beautiful. Synth seems great, but your playing is what stands out here. Lovely stuff. Thatā€™d sound great on any instrument due to your skills.

Thanks, thatā€™s too much!
Iā€™m not a keyboardist and Iā€™m very limited. I improvised with some hesitation moments.
Luckily we can delete wrong notes with midi stuff.

Well, Iā€™ve found that keyboard skills arenā€™t always about agility but about playing with emotion and presence, which arguably is harder to learn that technique, at least on the piano and at least for me

I just think you got across the piece very nicely in a way that made it matter

That ā€œrhodesā€ patch is really nice ā€¦ does it use both A and B in parallel or is it using just one voice ?

Is there some kind of distorsion built-in?

Monotimbral mode, hence 1 program, 12 voice.
I started from an Fm square wave, a super saw as fm modulation, keyboard filter follow, envelopeXvelocity on resonance, short envelopeXvelocity on noiseā€¦

Sure! Better than Elektrons digital drive.
I assigned velocity to drive.

Damn. I see no reason to escape getting one in the next batch

Yea, I keep meaning to stop buying stuff so I can get over the hump with saving up for a Rev2ā€¦ BUT cā€™mon - Iā€™m definitely getting the MM2 for myself for Christmas/my birthday

Have to sell something first.
Here you go, last pieces of modular!!

Yea, with my TR-06 getting returned, I may be able to swing the MM2 sooner than expected.

I keep coming back to this one
Been trying to do more atmospheric stuff with my Typhon, and while the FX are phenomenal there, itā€™s just not working out too well without a noise generator. Always comes out more eerie than I want. The FM is a bit limited there too.

Some sounds are truly just best made with a poly VA. Now I have some more Typhon time ahead of me to see just how close I can get to this with it, a shame it isnā€™t paraphonic.

I used 2 programs for this Random Pad, bitimbral. 2x6 voices max. Seems impossible to reproduce with a monosynth. :content:

(12 voices possible in monotimbral mode).

Lots to like about this one. But after some thought, itā€™s a pass for me.

Do you have any analog gear? Iā€™ve got an audiothingies p6 and I find that the overall sound of it sounds ā€œweakā€ in comparison to the evolver. This is not from the analog vs. digital perspective, I love the p6, it just doesnā€™t fit well with my favorite synth. The micromonsta seems great, but Iā€™m concerned this might be an issue with mm2 as well, thoughts?

Yeah, Iā€™m in that camp too. Thereā€™s usually that body missing even in a very good VA.

Any solutions? Wellā€¦ I know the solution is an Analog Heat, but any practical non-gas solutions?
