Model:Cycles Feature Requests Thread

Yeah, that would be incredibly useful for all Elektron gear - as soon as you step out of 4/4 time signature it can get really confusing to quickly see where one bar ends and the next one starts.

Unless it slipped past me somehow with another combo, retrig+track and then you can spin up and down the retrig rate with the track volume knob.

I guess Keyboard Scales ( X Pattern ) has already been mentioned…

Scales for the Chord machine would be incredibly useful too. Say you set a scale in a menu, then only the notes in that scale light up, you put your root notes down as normal, but (depending on the root note) only the chords in that scale for that root note are shown when sweeping through them. It would also make Control All or LFO sweeps of this parameter much more musically useful.

“Custom scales on keypad.”

Yes I need this.

I’d like a “Pain Gain” option as the track pads are really not sensitive enough. If we could adjust the sensitivity that’d be great.

I’d also like a solo option for the tracks, unless I’ve missed it?

Chord machine full chord midi out

Delay voicing options - right now the highs are rolled off but it would be nice to have the option to roll off low frequencies instead. Could possibly do this with negative values on the delay feedback setting

Additional machines … in particular the FM snare and rimshot from Machinedrum and Static and Parallel machines from Monomachine

Can’t you do this with preset locks?

Those are manually put in as P-Locks, which is different than an LFO affecting it.

I’d like to weigh in on step preview, for all Elektron devices.

I own a A4MKII, ARMKII, Digitakt, and I’m considering a Model:Cycles for some couch fun. But the absence of step preview currently makes me reconsider the purchase.

Come on Elektron! The trig+yes shortcut is available! (great fake demo from @Eaves)

More LFO options.

Wav: Constant

Mul: x3, x6, x12, x24, x48, 3k, 4k

Dst: New “hidden” destinations for finer control of the synth engine. OSC 2/3/4 level, pitch. Or maybe a simplified “tone” parameter, functioning as a lowpass filter.

Multiple destinations. (maybe double-tap LFO to get another page with 2 more dst/dep pairs)

Lastly, hold LFO and turn LFO Speed to change LFO depth.

I’ve been enjoying using Model:Cycles to control my MM, particularly with CTRL-ALL. Shame there are only a couple of CC’s common to the two.

So…I’d love to be able to customise the CC’s sent by the M:C AND I’d like the sequencer to send p-locked values to provide more control over external machines from the M:C.

P-lock of pan position would be my number one request also.

What do you mean by this?

YES, individual depths also would be great

This can already be done by holding the LFO button and turning the parameter knob that you want the LFO to control.

By Wav: Constant I mean an LFO that functions just as a static modifier, i.e. a virtual knob. Just applies the depth with no motion.

Thanks for the tip on quick LFO depth! I rescind that suggestion

100% agree, but there is a workaround with the LFO I posted in the Tips & Tricks thread

With speed zero and lfo retrig on a square wave with 0 phase will act like a static modifier when the depth is varied - if you use a ramp shape and just ascend the ramp a little with phase you can dial in subtler mod depths a bit easier

Any plans adding step recording? [rec + stop] Monomachine stile. its very useful for melody and another harmonic fun! =)

Thnx

Yeah, but what’s the use of a static modifier? Can’t you just use the parameter normally? Just seems like a waste of an LFO to me.
