Brown To Blue (Third Cycle) - EDM/Lounge
I’ve only had mine a couple of days and have racked up about 45 minutes on it but this is my first little bit of something something.
One bar loop techno track, because why not.
Fleshed it out a tiny bit and added the Erica Bassline for acid purposes and Heat for, well, heat.
The mix is crap and there’s way too much bass but what do you want from me, I’m fucking busy.
Hello,
Ambient, drumless jam on the Model:Cycles. All notes were sequenced by the NDLR, and recorded into the Cycles. Then used conditional trigs to add variation.
Headphones recommended
Sounds great and love the visuals. What’s going on with this railroad track? Haha I want to go here and ride
Cheers friend! I’m confused, there are two railroad tracks in the video haha! The one I’m playing the track next to (the abandonned one), and the one I ride
I guess it’s the latter, so it’s called “summer sledding” (luge d’été in french). Basically they put this installation on ski slopes during summer to attract tourists like us! Two seats on this thing (but you can ride alone) and you’ve got brakes if you’re too afraid. But the idea is to go all the way without breaking. Really nice ride, but too many tourists!
it’s not bad but it is definitely off topic
Oh yes sorry!! Totally overlooked the title here. I’ll delete it.
There I’ll swap it with this one (which I prefer anyway!)
It’s a green tea flavored jam around some sounds I came up with and liked.
Messed around with the “Chance” knob here
I know I’m cheating by using the Erica Bassline but they’re such a lovely pair.
For this one, I wanted to see how filthy the Cycles can get.
Turns out it can get pretty bloody filthy.
Everything except the Bassline is from the Cycles, all done live through a little bit of Heat and into my little zoom recorder.
This paints a rainy cyberpunk city-scape with a trench-coated figure smoking a cigarette under a blinking neon sign. Possibly in a video game from the early 90s with pixel art.
(in other words, I love it!)
Should change the title to : Model:Cycles mainly music.
That bassline is proper mate. Almost a Karen Gwyer track.
Not a fan of the cycles sound myself, the heat helps though.
Thanks man.
I feel a bit bad posting it here because the Erica kinda steals the show but it’s mostly about figuring out how best to use the cycles to fit my needs.
The sound is quite marmite and I’ve found it a little wooly in the mix (you’re right, the Heat mitigates most of this problem) but I’m getting some decent sounds out of it. I’ve mainly bought it because of its portability and ease of use, so the sound was less of a priority really.
I don’t think I’d be keeping it long if I didn’t like the distortion as much as I do.
Thanks man I appreciate!
Talking about the “JPN recess” one, not the previous one with the Subharmonicon I assume?
Anyway thanks!
Yes, that’s the one. I love chill FM tunes like this. Reminds me of a lot of my favorite games from the 90s. (DOS games, Megadrive games, etc.)
True, I don’t play much videogames but I really enjoy watching Twitch, people playing the oldies. I like 8bit music as well but I’ll wait before trying to dive into trackers
I’ll try posting some more music in this style, thanks for the feedback!
Felt a bit bad about cheating, so recorded one directly into my zoom H4n.
Just the Cycles, no Heat, no processing.
