Model:Cycles only music

Nice! We are a Ghibli household. My daughter will love this.

Thank you, and same! I’ve got 2 and we cycle through Ghibli movies pretty regularly. Totoro, Ponyo and Laputa are our favorites.

This one really helped me learn about the Chord machine. Most of the time when I’m just playing around I lean towards all percussion. Loving the sequencer.

Haha I realized after I commented there were two tracks. I wanna go summer sledding. Looks awesome!

Brand newness and first dance track on the Cycles. I could keep fiddling and tweaking for hours, but I needed to record it so I could move on.

This started out as an experiment with putting multiple chord machines on separate tracks with the same chord and different start phase points on the LFO. The track just kinda grew from there. Probably the first time i’ve ever felt like i’m actually playing this thing as opposed to just twisting knobs until I like what i hear. Anyways hope y’all enjoy.

Only had the M:C for 2 days, so please excuse this nonsense.
I’m just really impressed with this little box of mayhem.
1 pattern, no knob tweaking, just p-locks, conditionals, and muting.

Finally some stereo panning! I’ve been trawling through examples here, mostly the M:S, and wondering why everything sounds so mono, and squashed in the middle. Hardly anyone seems to care about stereo imaging. Is it because everyone listens on a single bluetooth speaker these days? Electronic music sounds so much better with stereo qualities.

It’s funny you say that, as I’ve found myself experimenting with doing all my tracks in mono since I got my cycles. It was definitely a conscious choice, been inspired to go much more old school sound wise, like an FM take on 606 style sounds, which are very mono friendly.

Thanks man! Yeah it’s all personal choice. I’ve played in bands for years and we had to mix ourselves for a while (who doesn’t) and we really learned that panning stuff helps free things up frequency wise. Again this track was mulitracked and mixed in Ableton but the stereo panning on the chord machines was all done with the cycles

Hello,

Came out of my comfort zone on this one and tried a synthwave inspired jam…went over 100 bpm for the first time of my model:cycles!

Again, all music written on the ndlr and recorded into the model:cycles sequencer.

Headphones recommended :headphones:

Hey guys!
Here’s a little sketch I did yesterday in Paris.
Trying to convince myself I have a lot to do on the Cycles, and that I don’t need a Digitone.
I think I need both, to be honest  Love the Cycles!
