My latest twitch livestream was mostly model cycles, with some additional percussion from the TR606

The last bit got muted, apparently it sounded like copyrighted material

I don’t know what this is, but it’s all coming out of the M:C.
I haven’t slept for 2 days, and this is what happens. I think it’s the worst piece of music I’ve ever created.
For some reason that the mastering inclined among you might know better, the snare sounded a lot better when I was recording it, but it sounds less awesome when listening back to the .wav file, which sucks.
Anyway, I’m going to bed. I’d say enjoy it but it’s not very enjoyable. It’s best if you see this an example of the breadth of the cycles’ sound design capabilities.
Full disclosure, I did warm it up a little teeny bit with the Heat.
Definitely the most off piste i’ve heard the cycles, love it. Between you and @Modern_Chair i’m sold on the cycles as a capable noise machine, excited to pick one up when I can. Snare sounds beasty to my tinnitus-ridden ears, I would’ve guessed it was processed acoustic. Love the murk it’s in, travels well too. Anyway, I enjoyed it so fuck you
Fuck you.
At first I was like, “this snare machine is a bag of shit”. Then I spent some time figuring out how to use it and the snares you can make with this thing are awesome. My general lack of quality recording skills and equipment really don’t do justice to how massive and snappy that snare sound is. It still makes me jump and I know it’s coming.
The kicks and hats are bloody good as well. Haven’t explored the perc machine much yet, but I’m increasingly optimistic I can do decent stuff with it.
Model Cycles + monotribe
All Cycles plus Heat.
Terrifying like a fever-induced paranoia nightmare. Won’t listen again but interesting once.
A new Genre is born.
Yeah, but what do we call it.
I’m going with shitrave.
Look who finally figured out he could use the Fill button. I went a little wild with it, and I think it’s a bit too repetitive, but I also kinda love it.
It’s a hell of a snap! Like a table got slapped in half.
There’s this real revelatory moment with the MC when you first get the snare machine to go full snappy bastard. How this thing is capable of such realistic snares with so few parameters available is a fucking mystery to me, but I love it.
Cool that. Reminds me of the sort stuff I might find on Ron Morelli’s L.I.E.S label. Nice and dirty
Sea Sick Techno
That’s funny, because my friends think I look like sea sick Steve (I don’t).
Aren’t you the one who says that you were very very good looking?
Stunning mate
Hello,
Back once again with a dreamy trip hop inspired jam.
I recorded some ndlr sequences into the Cycles and experimented until I came up with something I liked.
Headphones recommended
I have been really struggling with the snare. Do you have any pointers for how you got that sound? It sounds amazingly realistic.
Reverb is the secret sauce.
I’ll have a look at it later and post the settings up here.
