yes, up to three devicea .
I have an issue thatās really bugging me. When I place a kick sample in a 4/4 pattern and mute the pad, when I unmute the pad the first hit is always a little bit quiet. Anybody know what might be going on??
Do you have any kind of effects in your signal chain? Compressor etc? Does the same thing happen if you create a new/completely empty project?
Nothing, itās the same in a brand new project. If I place it on step 2 then itās fine. If I nudge it forward, the further I nudge it the less pronounced the volume reduction. I suspect this is a bugā¦
Ouch, yeah it does sound like a bug. Have you tried the good olā reboot?
Yep. Annoying.
Please report it to Akai if you can. Iāve been reporting bugs when I see them too. They have a laundry list of fixes to do after 2.11.3ās release
Yep!
Can confirm it as well.
Makes it a pretty good deal.
Niceā¦well, now I have to decide if I should buy the plugins or if I should just buy the keyboard and āsaveā money (heavy quotes on that one ).
It depends on needs + budget +space.
Do you have other keyboards/Synths? And whatās your MPC?
If you do get the Plugins, get the pack as thatās the best deal right now.
Fabric XL + OPx-4 and you got all the synth engines/sounds you need.
Is the bundle really a good deal or do the sales people want you to think that?
The FM synth seems cool, but Iām not that impressed by the sound quality of the accoustic stuff. Just watched a review and there are even a bunch of identical patches in different plugins (!) with only minor tweaks to the effects.
You can hear the identical patches at 14:30 https://youtu.be/QvMMLQZCM_k
The cost seems too high for what you get imoā¦
*Havenāt tested them myself but he mentions there could be around 20-30 patches that are duplicated across plugins.
given the pricing of each separate plugin ($150 and $250 for Fabric) yes the $500 bundle was a slight deal versus buying a la carte. not sure if the bundle pricing is still in effect as of this month though
Did you listen to the duplicate patch comparison? So if I for example open up Stage Piano, and then Fabric XL, and a bunch of patches are duplicates (same root samples), apart from some minor FX tweaks. So how is it in any way a good deal to buy both, even with a ādiscountā?
Iām a total fan of all of the new MPCās, they are brilliant, but this is a heavy marketing ploy, and borderline scam imo.
Just to add:
Its a hell of a deal if you see the price of that reviewerās Sample Packs ($150! LOL) and the lovely terms and conditions that come with it! (percentage of sales!)
Speaking of which, quite a few MPC sample pack sellers on youtube arent happy about this and I wonder why.
Everyone should test it first before making opinions based on Youtube hustlers.
Doubt itās a scam. But as otherās mentioned, itād probably be good to demo the plug-ins. I tried the FM.
How is it a scam exactly?
To have identical patches in different plugins, with only minor fx tweaks, that is close to being a scam in my world. Itās like selling two books and then copy pasting a bunch of chapters. And on top of that you are selling them as a bundle
You are selling two products, but reusing a bunch of components, and then claiming itās a good deal to buy bothā¦
Iām not trying to defend or argue about that specific youtuber, Iām only refering to the duplicate sound examples. Iām interested in these specific facts
But you are right, āscamā is a strong wordā¦ Let me rephrase and call it a diluted product, if you will.
But hey, itās standalone and if it floats your boat, go for it! Iām just stating my humble opinion, and Iāll be getting the FM synth myself.
The guy that brought that up is so full of itā¦ he just jumped to conclusions without understanding the product and just made stuff up to prove his theoryā¦
They are not copies of patches, for instance, stage piano is a plug in with four multisampled pianoās. Yes it is true that the same multisamples are in fabric xl, the difference is in that the stage piano has a extra layer of modeling synthesis on top of the samples to bring about the most realistic rendering. Fabric piano has the same multisamples as fabric xl for piano but you donāt have to load the whole plug in just for a pianoā¦
So it is not about " copying" presets between the plug ins, it is about resourcesā¦ say you need a piano, you can use the very best studio piano, but it will eat away a good amount of resources, you can use fabric xl and mix a piano with a saxophone or something, but it will eat away the most resources, or you can use fabric piano and not use a lotā¦ same as Roland has the same pianos in the zencore, supernatural, and v- piano but each uses more resourcesā¦ but mpc is even more important because they all are loaded in ram when usedā¦ so if you use fabric xl and strings, you may only get three or four plug ins before your memory is toastā¦ get it? It is not about them pulling a scam, they have been very forward, it is about people not understanding the product and slamming it because they donāt bother to understand.
I think people are mad because they see these as basically expansions with a nice gui for big dollarsā¦ they donāt understand, you canāt load up really good instrument expansions close to this fast, and anything this fast, wonāt sound near as goodā¦ Akai pulled some voodoo with these and it is incredible, and thru want to get paid for itā¦ nothing wrong with that.
Everyone needs to decide what it worth to themā¦ if you are happy with expansions then awesome! Some are happy to put down $500 easily just to not have to haul around a workstation and a mpc because now the mpc can do pretty much the same stuffā¦ although if course not near as polishedā¦ the Japanese companies have been perfecting workstations for thirty yearsā¦ and they donāt have the same issue with ram, thru can use rom so they can compress stuff more.
