Does anyone know a release date for the new Overbridge 1.1 ???
I think Total Recall is supposed to remember every aspect of the machine connected, with the click of a button. Not even need to save stuff on the unit, I THINK. It’s all saved in the plugin computer project.
Not sure how it will work with samples on the Rytm. If indeed all the loaded samples are also saved on the computer, so that you can connect a stock Rytm and just Total Recall and go.
AU and DAW is welcome. I’m a Logic user. I haven’t started using Overbridge because I’m a Logic user. But what about a stand-alone version? I’d be much more interested in a stand-alone version for sound design and Librarian use.[/quote]
That goes also for non-DAW users!!!

I think the Virus TI had this functionality in their OS 3 (2009-ish?). That’s only plugin though, no standalone. So, nothing totally groundbreaking for Overbridge. It would be a great feature to have of course.
I’m getting antsy for this, simply because I’m in an El Capitan environment and…well, Overbridge doesn’t work at all and it was the main reason for going with Elektron. Patience.
On the latest sonic state podcast it was mentioned that the new elektron OS release would be after Xmas.

New OS after Xmas according to Sonicstate… at the 55:00 mark

And again a faulty way of communication from Elektron…
So it’s more likely next year at Namm 2016…

The Xmas after Xmas is also “after Xmas”
In recent years the Elektron headquarter was closed during the holidays.
This summer is after Christmas.

Thanks and likewise!
any news on new version? I can’t wait :o))
Same question. Does OB sync output through A4 or Rytm Din socket? Please say yes! Octatrack wants to play, too. I don’t want to buy an Innerclock or Expert Sleepers product just for sync…
Just put the latest bug fix updates on my AR and A4 (1.21C)
I know we’re all eager to get our hands on the new sequencer probability features, but I’m very glad they pushed this out first. It squashed some major master length bugs and an even bigger bug that would freeze the Rytm.
In testing it today I also noticed that Direct Jump is more stable than ever.
On Rytm, I no longer need to use the 1024 Master LEN setting to avoid the skipped step issue, and can finally go back to the “Infinite” setting.
Haven’t tested A4 yet but fingers are crossed as a stable direct jump that doesn’t hiccup is a big performance tool for fun cross-fade style fills between patterns and kits.
Poor communication aside, bravo to Elektron for working to ensure stability first.
Will Overbridge 1.1 now work withe all DAW-s or only in ableton?
I am using Reaper and they said to me quote:
“Later this fall is what we aim for.”
My question was:
"can you give me a approximate date when Overbridge 1.0 for reaper will be available? "
Elektron said 1.1 will be available around end of January…
I’m going to wipe my laptop and go back to Yosemite tonight. I was hoping to avoid this, but three months is far too long to wait for simple OS support.
I think it is a bad sign.
I fear that the whole Overbridge thing may turn into abandonware in the not so far future.
Yesterday I updated to El Capitan and used midi sync again instead of Overbridge and it’s actually a relief. Yes, the first bar is not not in sync and there is no plugin and multi channel recording and all that stuff that I don’t really need.
I wish Elektron stayed a hardware company.
i’m using windows 7 and ableton live lite 8 and it works fine. Doesn’t work on my el capitan macbook pro with the latest version of ableton. many music hardware manufacturers had trouble with Apple’s changes to the usb driver so Elektron is not alone.
As much as Elektron is in the market of hardware, there is no need to limit their growth/market based on your preferences. the users are diverse and not everyone uses these machines for live jamming/improv only.
As you can tell, the small screens on the Elektron boxes wouldn’t be possible without the software that connects the UI to the hardware. I see Overbridge as Elektron learning/adapting to the requests of their users and applying these lessons to their next machine.
I realize many people are waiting, but it’s been a pretty established practice to not download the most recent OSX update until all the issues are solved if you have critical work in process. This is not just for musicians, but anyone who relies on the stability of their computer to do their job
Where did they say this?
