even the model samples is in great proximity being that it can cover the majority of the FX the circuit rhythm will have… and it has midi… stereo sampling would be wonderful on the model samples but in this comparison it’s so capable elswhere that it still wouldn’t sway me… they’re making it almost too easy for elektron to mama said knock them out with a simple addition of sample slicing…
Yeah, no midi tracks. Seems Rhythm will focus entirely on samples.
Not sure if that’s official or if they just collected information all over the internet, it makes sense, though if you look at Rhythm and Tracks together as a duo.
I guess it makes sense in that way, but with novations foresight I think they might have deduced that most would look at the rhythm side by side with the digitakt or model samples
Honestly if they add slicing on Digitakt like a second screen to chromatic… You won’t need more. It’s almost perfect. I can even overcome the fact that it can’t do chords
I ordered a circuit tracks. Think it would pair great with a micromonsta 2. looking forward to play with this improved circuit. Loved the workflow on the old one… I think there are enough improvements to make it worth for many people. By the way: full size midi trio
that would make more since, yeah lol… I dunno about how well the sp workflow translates to the circuit workflow though… I’ve used both extensively and I don’t know how many sp users they’ll garner over this… I know the elektron workflow is quite different from the sp workflow as well but the difference imo is that the elektron workflow is much cooler than the circuit workflow imho… and comes with the results to show for it too… but there are quite a few circuit users who swear by it’s factor…
That’s what I am hoping for. It feels like a rip-off these days that Roland are charging $550 for a brand new SP404-A. When you have the tracker for the same price, and now this coming in at probably a little cheaper, there just some really good options in the price range. I am definitely stoked about the Circuit Rhythm. A built-in battery powered sampler with a fun sequencer, SD card, resampling, some interesting FX, stereo sampling, and a reasonable price point. Checks a lot of the boxes for me.
I’ve had 2 OT’s, 2 A4’s, 1 AR, 2 DT, 2 DN’s. But no more.
If a synth or sequencer sits for a few weeks unused, I get rid of it. I love the idea and when I get an Elektron I really enjoy them for a few weeks but then I go on to other things. I wish I didn’t but other units are more “Fun” for me to work with.
Right now, a Polyend Tracker and a Deluge are getting used a lot more than the Elektron stuff….so those I’m keeping. I spent a lot more time with the Circuit I had than any Elektron gear but again it’s a lot easier to just turn on and play so maybe that’s the kind of music equipment I go for. I’m impatient.
imho there isn’t a workflow as immediate, easy, creative and rewarding as the model samples… I bought and sold the circuit twice as for me it felt like it just didn’t know what it was doing as a lover of all things beatmachine… I own a ptracker and deluge also I couldn’t squeeze fun out of a circuit if it was a tube of toothpaste but I recognize that it has certainly hit the spot of some folks out there, for me it was the first time I had my hands on a hardware beatmachine and couldn’t fathom keeping it… I only bought it twice because I thought I had to be crazy to dislike it so much and when you let something go sometimes you realize better what you miss from it but nope, nyet, nada, uh uh
I totally get it. I’ve bought a few things thinking why cant i get it…and then I sell them because i never do…but that’s ok…the more I use, the more I learn so coming back to something I tried a long time ago might be different after realizing I didnt use a feature before because I didnt understand it.
