Novation Circuit Rhythm and Circuit Tracks

I tried loading an old Circuit pack to the circuit tracks. The new packs are called .circuittrackspack and the old one are called .circuitpack. So I could not load it in the circuit tracks component section. Maybe the packs have to be converted somehow. I read, that for now you have to copy the old Synth patches to the new pack Manually and go from there… this makes sense, as the synth patches should be the same

Another problem I ran into is, that the sd card seems to be only working when formatted to fat32. With win 10 you can only Format to exfat and ntfs. So I need to find a tool for converting my spare 64gb microsdcard…

Edit: works fine, once the card is formatted right. Loading times are pretty fast from the card on the device itself.

I recently went through this formatting a card for deluge… This tool worked for me:

Just doing a little battery powered sofa jam and testing out midi tracks and audio in… works good! image

Circuit gets definitely less portable with all of that cables sticking out of its back

I am selling my almost new circuit tracks. While it is fun, it feels not really different from the old circuit. And all the fiddling with the computer and SD card reminded me, why I sold the original one. But don’t get me wrong, it is still a powerful and innovative device.

Stimmings review is online now

I had to order one from Andertons…overseas for me but it was the only place that has them in stock that I could find. I use my Pyramid for important stuff but will use the circuit for just fun jamming. I love to have a variety of fun little groove boxes just to mess around with when I’m not serious.

Some clarifications to the video here.

It is possible to save patches and packs offline on your computer via components.

To return to a knob default value hold clear and rotate the knob.

There are 8 patterns per track for each project. (There is a second page)

You can also duck the two input channels independently, not just the two synths.

9:50 to 10:20 is a great example of why I love Stimmings reviews! Such a cool guy

Absolutely, he is one of the few reviewers who creates stuff in their demonstrations that actually sounds good. Not your go to for someone who has read the manual perhaps (as nionmu points out) but I think he offers more perspective beyond just features.

My favourite trick with this so far has been creating patterns of multiple bars (one pattern can now be 8 bars long) in an unused MIDI track and using those with scenes to set how long a scene loops for. Combined with scene chaining it is much easier to create structures than I expected. I think they have really improved the sequencer on this over the OG circuit.

my main takeaway from this video is, that the mfb synth pro sounds amazing

Is it possible to side chain the inputs? That might still make me get one.

Sounds like Stimming’s going for a tougher sound nowadays, if what we heard is anything to go by. Hehe.

I wasn’t very interested in the circuits before the review, now I’m slightly interested even though this one here is not aimed at me (more of a studio and not live kind of guy, also, going by what he said, I’m too advanced for it :joy:) but still, can’t deny it: it looks really fun.

Yes, both input channels can be sidechained individually.

I am hoping we can still use the synth tracks for MIDI also, along with the midi tracks?

I have 3 synths I want to sequence.

Mine is coming from Andertons…hopefully next week.

Yes you can use all the tracks to sequence external kits. You just have to silence the track in the mixer.

Great review, made me appreciate his Maschine+ review even more.

I found his review for it, main verdict: There are better synths for bass, great for wide spread simple chord sounds. „It’s a Techno Organ“.

Yeah I saw his review. To be honest, to me it sounds just like a really nice analog polysynth rather than a techno organ, whatever that might be

did the Roland versalab steal some of the thunder over here, it’s kinda quiet? The circuit tracks is out in the wild , either folks are too busy enjoying it or underwhelmed maybe … ?
