I had a Circuit and eventually sold it to fund other adventures, but I do miss it. Good builld quality, a cool interface and Novation kept coming with the new features. I wonder what is in these two new products to justify the higher price. They look nice!

No longer need to use editor to change samples on device. I’m sure it was a hack to get the obvious feature request to work … I hope it’s much smoother on this box.
Probably mount as drive in computer and just drag/drop files into a folder.
As noted yes there’s a slice button so presumably it can auto slice and there’s some fine editing for start / end point ( the circuit was able to fine tune this sort of stuff ) and likely samples are usable as one shots / loopable ( based on the other button decals )
I liked the circuit , synth engine was quite capable , lots of modulation , sample playback was ok ( annoying to get things in it ).
The sequencer was fine, it had a song mode , basic but usable fx …
These two won’t please everyone but they both look interesting though I doubt I’ll buy either.

I was curious to see if Novation were blowing out the original Circuit, so I checked out some retailer websites. No one has them in stock, and many don’t even have the original Circuit listed on their website anymore. Could mean these new models are dropping real soon.
So what do we think, a Monday announcement?

I’m not sure why but I always had a feeling that TR-606 or similar machines were strong inspiration to not use any screens.

How is the screen or not screen thing even an argument? Some of us are okay with Novation’s approach, some are not. And that’s okay. Clearly there’s a market for those who want these boxes without screens. If you want a Circuit with a screen, pitch your solution on how that’d work or move along.
I’ll take my first flag for 2021 now, thank you. I’ll plant it right next to the cone head hat someone gave me yesterday.
