OctaEdit - Octatrack Software Editor and Librarian [ OSX / Windows ]

Might have to finally install parallels on my mac for this  Nice work Rusty!

virtual box is a nice (free!) alternative to parallels. has run really smoothly on a couple of macs that i’ve installed it on. does require a legit copy of windows to run, though.

Nice! cheers for the heads up

Just saw the video, great stuff, cant wait

Is it within the scope of the editor to provide a quick way to save all the record buffers (e.g. with some sort of auto naming system)?

This would be a great feature for the way I like to use the Octatrack.

Thanks for all the work, looking forward to Octaedit!

I don’t use the record buffers too much… but… they only exist for the active session no?

So the process on the Octatrack is a manual saving one, no?

Yes, you manually save them.

Ok. So the answer to the original question is no, that will not happen. As they do not exist outside of the Octatrack’s RAM until they are saved.

Oooohhh… whats this? Shiny, sparkly…

Mad props to Guga for the logo :joy:

Nice! If you look at it sideways, it kind of looks like an evil smiley clown robot (a good thing!)

I just watched your video! Make an OSX version so I can throw money at you.

I want what you’re having :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Beta Testers:

Beta build v0.0.083 released. Check your emails.

If you haven’t received it, let me know.

Lots of changes, doco to follow when I get around to it…

Another… “OSX, and i will buy it.”

:+1:

:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: looks like OctaEdit is taking great shape Rusty!

i understand the calls for a sapple version but surely you can use bootcamp or the likes
even just buy a cheapo vindows laptop? (either would have other uses)

yes more work/$ for you
but selfishly

i just want less work for rusty and the beta testers and a usable version asap
for me, never has new piece of gear become so unused
without it getting kicked out the door.

I could, but why would i risk my music/work computer stability and/or peace of mind?
No worries, i have no problem with the OT as is, and can wait for a possible future port of octaedit to OSX.
Neither am i challenging the idea of going for windows first, just seconding the many calls for a port.

Duly noted

i’d buy a windows version and make it work on my mac first, but a native os x version would be sweet

Realistically and pragmatically a native OSX version will still take a while, if it ever happens.
