git 'er done, take my money!
Win or OSX?
Damn, donât ever walk into a car dealership with that attitude! Theyâll clean you out.
Jokes aside, I would prefer OSX (10.6.8 to be specific) but I will gladly get it for my surface pro 3 and use that as a workaround until OSX becomes available. My main interest would be preparing live sets from other old live sets. Which up until now is a freakin nightmare. I could write 5 new songs in the amount of time I spend file managing my set. Thanks, Rusty.
Also - kickstarter takes a piece of the action I believe. There might be other sites that give you 100% and also give you your funds if the goal is not met.
This.
There didnât appear to be a great demand to justify a kickstarter⌠see beginning of this thread, so one never happended. Well, that and my catholic guilt.
Raised by NRain:
If the âPriorityâ Option only relates to sample locks, perhaps a setting of none should simply not map any sample locks to the target project rather than not map any samples at all to the target project?
Hmmm⌠couple of options here⌠think it might be best to try and implement both options:
- Copy samples to new slots, set all existing sample locks in Source to null (i.e. remove Sample Locks)
- Copy samples to new slots, leave sample locks as are in source (could be interesting)
Any thoughts anyone? Bueller?
Update: One Beta Tester wanted.
Unfortunately, one of the beta testers has had to withdraw
Therefore there is now a Beta Tester slot available⌠so I am looking for one more person to do some Beta testing for me please, a substitute if you will.
Beta testing is already cruising along, or a trainwreck depending on your point of viewâŚ
If weâve been in touch before, please do get in touch again.
Reminder that OctaEdit is Windows only⌠but if you are on a Mac, and fancy like mucking around with Parrallels (known to work) or Vine/Wine i[/i] do let me know, but itâs of lower importance at the moment.
Core piece of functionality being tested resolves around heavy manipulation of data⌠so obviously having a deep understanding of the Octatrack structure will be required.
Answers on the back of a postcard to the usual address.
Windows, pleeeeease!

Will buy on OSX, not willing to install bootcamp or the like. OSX should be included in this natively.
âshouldâ hey? shouldnt you write your own then?
that situation has already been quite thoroughly explained

Sorry I havenât read through the 19 pages, no need to be snappy with me. I donât really care either way, but if this is available for OSX, it has my support and I will buy it. If not, then I will just move on. No need to alienate possible clientele.

âshouldâ reads snappy to me, figured youâd get that by my quoting and using it?
btw it was only a few post back, maybe 1 page where rusty laid it out about osx, and he has been regularly
acknowledging the calls for osx. (possible but dont bank on it)
forgive my fervere, iâd get any system its written on if needed, but its on win and i have win
I would/will buy this in a heartbeat for OSX but Iâm not going to jump into Windows just for one piece of gear.
I very much appreciate all the hard work by Rusty and the beta testers though!!! Itâs a much needed tool and a game changer. Thanks.
Iâll buy for sure this OctaEdit, thank you Rusty for great job⌠I know nothing about the new pcâs, can we run all kind of pc softs on a Surface 3 for example ? What are the limitation compared to a PC Laptop ? Ram memory ?
Iâd prefer an OSX version, but I understand the development difficulties.
Iâd think that there would be no problem running the app on OS X with Wine, though, so no dual boot necessary.
perhaps someone could beta test thatâŚ
thanks
another +1 here for OSX
Beta Testers:
Beta build v0.0.098 released. Check your emails.
If you havenât received it, let me know.
