this!
SID station was a small box. It was an expensive boutique synthesizer in limited numbers and people wanted it. The sequencers of the Elektron boxes are which make them unique. I donât know if this is especially Swedish, but the demo scene, which was a neccessary step in history in order to lead to a path with Elektron on it was strong in scandinavia.
ill wager a solid number of products in your house are made in China.
not an issueâŚright?
So are Elektron black OTâs Polish or Swedish? Or is it just Elektron in name? Iâm beginning to feel sorry for these little boxes.
Chinese, like all electronics in the year 2021
Do you mind to elaborate what exactly you refer to? I read he wrote that it was about local boutique manufacturers becoming big companies and not about nations.
That besides - where have you been during all that Behringer bashing (Chinese company)?
Its only a problem when its a problem. Everyone sees Apple as a premium brand, where the devices are made makes no difference. Now suddenly Elektron moving part of their assembling to Poland means the quality has crashed⌠Its all bullshit but hey, humans are full of it.
probably it is bullshit but the thing is that ELEKTRON themselves used ââmade in swedenââ to promote the premium quality of their products (in those words, handmade here in sweden)â, SO IT MEANT SOMETHING! which part about this is hard to understand exactly? so, whoâs full of it? we or elektron?
Iâm curious when was the last time they marketed using that phrase?
probably not since they started to manufacture them in Poland
Had they marketed their polish made products as handmade in sweden I would understand why people are annoyed, but since they stopped using it in their marketing years ago I see it as just⌠well, bullshit.
Daniel Troberg himself stated they made their instruments in Sweden and Estonia back in 2006. No chance Elektron used âMade in Swedenâ for promotion in the last 15 years. Distributers maybeâŚ
Ok the guys from elektron are here to ruin your lives
with the help of the worst country to manufacture machines,
the Polish are super happy because they were waiting from many years
to finally be able to degrade the quality of musical instruments on a large scale.
Seriously and once again if they relocate certain chains to Poland,
it is because they find their quality standards there.
Problems can arise but in Sweden too!
@host gives the VERY good example of Apple making high-end products
right above the dormitories of their workers more or less free
in a country with a generally poor reputation for quality of production.
Yet people camp to buy their products on the day of the release at exorbitant prices.
And they find them EXTRAORDINARY.
Said who?
Some people in this thread, and if they didnt outright say it, well then Iâm guilty of hyperbole. But my point is that whether an Octatrack is made in Sweden or Estonia or Poland doesnât tell anything about itâs quality.
Just an interesting observation (nothing more or less)⌠I used https://web.archive.org/ to look at various years of their website. 2006, 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2018. Looking at the âCompanyâ page and various product pages I couldnât find a single instance where they were promoting the fact that they were manufacturing in Sweden. The only mention of Sweden I could find was in their address.
Clearly theyâve mentioned this before, we all know it, but I think it more just mentioned through interviews, videos and social media. Had it been more than that or emphasized that highly youâd think itâd be more prominent on the website, especially on product pages.
Just thought that was interesting.
I googled Elektron made in sweden and couldnât even find a site where those words were written all together. Nord does market their synths as made in sweden.
well, thatâs like⌠your opinion!
elektron obviously thinks differently since theyâve been using the ââmade in swedenââ to emphasize how gear built in sweden, especially handmade in sweden, are superior to gear built somewhere else.
Their Superbooth 2018 marketing blurb does say âAll instruments are made in Swedenâ.
But in this thread some people were critical of the build quality of mk2 units, so maybe itâs good they stopped making them in Sweden and outsourced to factories with better quality control!
While looking for those, I found an auction for a âVINTAGE ELEKTRON DIGITAKT DRUM MACHINEâ
Nevermind, answered above.
